Usually I try to be very understanding of those in the service industry. Particularly teachers and medical professionals, since I'm related to some. But today I went in for a quick procedure. Though I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment, I waited an hour in the waiting room. Then an additional 20 minutes in the patient room. 3:30 was the latest slot they could schedule me for, so I don't know what happened to those who had appointments at 4 or 4:30. It was just incredibly frustraiting. and I had a headache. boo.

I would want to stay out of Cuba, Venezuela, all the Middle Eastern countries that hate Americans, North Korea and (thanks to Anne) The Philippines.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Thinking of yourself and your hypothetical Amazing Race partner, which one of you will do a bungee jump Roadblock, and which will dress up in a costume and become a fool for public humiliation?
.Love,
The Asker

Aunt Chris has bungee jumped in Australia before. She can take that honor in this game.
And, Chris is not one for being too silly and I could not bear to have her humiliated. Being a mother, I do NOTHING BUT humiliate those around me, especially with my appearance and dress. Having already endured the scathing looks of my children and comments like "Will I have to sit by you at this meeting? I mean, your hair looks really frizzy today." I feel fully prepared for the task! Yeah Motherhood!! I skill I can use!!
Oh, Kristen. That is not a good day and I really feel that pain. The doctor's office should have been polite enough to explain to you what the delay was and give you the option of rescheduling.
I,too, am sorry for your frustrating experience at the doctor's office. After waiting 20 minutes, the office staff should have told you if and why the doctor was running late. I have learned to ask when I check in, "is the doctor running late?" and I take a book. Hope the procedure went well.
I have never watched the show The Amazing Race. For obvious reasons, Daryl would have to be the one to bungee jump. I guess that leaves me the one in costume. Sounds mild in comparison to falling from a high place attached to a rubber band!!
First thought........Martin to do the bungee jump. He has not done this but I am thinking he would enjoy this. Alas, that leaves me with the costume and public humiliation. Being a mom and a teacher........kinda prepared me for this part! ha
I am sorry you had such a frustrating time at the doctor. It happens. Last time I went for a checkup, my appointment was for 3:45. I arrived about 3:35. I was called into the room about 4:20...doctor came in about 4:50 and I walked out about 5:20. Good thing I brought reading material.
The cause.......they told me they are going completely paperless...everything on computer....even the 'chart' and were having computer problems.......
:)
They thanked me for being patient. Gave me about $75 worth of 'samples' of a medication I am taking.
:)
Life goes on.
I would dress up in costume, hands down. Not sure if Liz would bungee jump or not. Probably would.
The hubby would do the bungee jump - he keeps eyeballing the ruddy things to start with, but I won't be goaded into joining him.
I would totally do the public humiliation costume thing. Oddly, for all my fears of appearing silly in public, costumes make everything better.
I can only imagine the horror stories once 'everyone' in America has free access to medical care. =O
Sam would probably be the one jumping and I'd probably do the costume. I agree with TamiJean on courage in anonymity.
So ... Matthew and I are currently discussing this. If we were to be partners on the amazing race, I would do the bungee jumping and he would wear the costume and be ridiculous. Mostly because I've bungee jumped twice (though once was at 6 Flags and I don't know if that qualifies as actual 'bungee jumping') and Matthew's afraid of heights.
Besides, it wouldn't take being on the Amazing Race to have Matthew dress up and be silly.
