The Amazing Race: 5/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I'm really enjoying all the answers to this week's questions. And I really appreciate the commiseration to yesterday's Dr. story. Sadly, it didn't help much and I didn't feel too hot today. I do not have swine flu. I'm fairly certain it's all related to these headaches of mine.
.
Anyway, back to the last day of Amazing Race Theme Week.
I would do my best to be humiliated in costume, and not blubbering in fear about bungee jumping. I'm fairly certain Christi would be up for the bungee. But Matthew and I would...well, I don't how we would decide.
Stop imagining yourself as a player, seeing and doing interesting things. Think of yourself as a mastermind!
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Pick a country or city. Now what sort of zany activity, pointless physical activity or obscure local tradeskill would you have the racers perform?

The Amazing Race: 4/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Usually I try to be very understanding of those in the service industry. Particularly teachers and medical professionals, since I'm related to some. But today I went in for a quick procedure. Though I arrived 10 minutes before my appointment, I waited an hour in the waiting room. Then an additional 20 minutes in the patient room. 3:30 was the latest slot they could schedule me for, so I don't know what happened to those who had appointments at 4 or 4:30. It was just incredibly frustraiting. and I had a headache. boo.
.
I would want to stay out of Cuba, Venezuela, all the Middle Eastern countries that hate Americans, North Korea and (thanks to Anne) The Philippines.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Thinking of yourself and your hypothetical Amazing Race partner, which one of you will do a bungee jump Roadblock, and which will dress up in a costume and become a fool for public humiliation?

The Amazing Race: 3/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I hope you all had a nice Tuesday. It was a looong day for me, followed by exercize class. Phew!
.
For my Amazing Race journey, I'd like to visit Russia, or someplace tropical. It would be a challenge of climate and culture. And surely traditional dress would be involved.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
What country or city would you least like to go to for 36 hours during your Amazing Race experience?
.
Some of you have thought this through already!
.
Love,
The Asker

The Amazing Race: 2/5 addendum

I should have been more specific in my question for today.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is supposed to be:
.
What country or city would you most like to go to for 36 hours during your Amazing Race experience?
.
Though I do like hearing about the themed tours being mentioned. I've already got mine. Mom and I will be taking a Castles and Chocolate tour around Europe... someday

The Amazing Race: 2/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
We talked to a Realtor. We liked him and will start looking at houses within the next week or so. Look! we make progress! We are not all talk and no walk!
.
For my amazing race partner, I would chose one of two people. First choice would be my younger brother (though I'd have to fight Jackie for him). After training for strength and stamina, we would be good to go. He could do all the tall and strong things and I'd do all the small and squirrly things. We know each other well and haven't had an argument since I went to college.
Second choice would be my Roommate, Christi. I'd have to train to be as fit as her (she's an outdoors girl by nature), but she's been to exotic foreign lands and I know we could do crazy silly stuff together to get through a challenge.

Amazing Race: 1/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I had a pretty good weekend. It was 3 days long, so I got to do things like go to the recycle center, hit the library and get my teeth cleaned. That was probably the most positive response from a dental hygenist I've ever had at a cleaning. She sounded truely impressed by the lack of plaque and tarter. Perhaps it was the electric toothbrush that Santa left in our Christmas stockings?
.
I love naps on the carpet in the sunshine. I love naps on the couch with a blanket. I love naps on my parent's bed, because their mattress is fluffy. I love warm weather hammock naps after reading a book. I love naps induced by Sewing with Nancy or Bob Ross. (I used to have those after I got home from school).
.
I hope you are all familiar with The Amazing Race, because that is the theme of the week. If not, here is the wikipedia page with all sorts of interesting details. Essentially, pairs of people (who are friends, or related, or dating, or something) race around the world completing crazy, scary or difficult tasks in order to win each leg of the race (and a fabulous prize!) and ultimately the whole race ($1 million!). At the end of each episode, the last team is kicked off. But don't worry, The Amazing Race: QotD? will not be sophisticated enough to kick anyone off. You will all be winners!
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Who would you choose to be your partner, and why?
.
I'm not going to tell you my answer yet, but I suspect it may be a little surprised.

I wish I could have one every day. oh wait. I do... I wish I could have one not on a van.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I take off my pants and then my socks. Also, polenta is still a weird food thing to eat. Have you had success with polenta, where it doesn't feel like you are eating cream-of-wheat?
.
You should be proud of me, that I'm doing this before I go to sleep. Tomorrow is my Friday off and usually I forget about you. But not tonight!

Where is your favorite place for naps?

this one is about undressing

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I wore my alley cats in love on a recycle bin socks today. Thanks Jackie and Matthew!
Vanpool, fuel efficienter car, wash all laundry in cold water with few exceptions, stingy about turning on the heat, recycle at home, recycle at work, save paper with usefully blank backs for scrap paper and notes at work, re-use stuff, berate others at work who don't recycle their can or bottle, despite the receptacle being right there!

Today's Question of the Day? is:

Which do you take off first, your socks or your pants?

EARTH DAY!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
My exercize class was cancelled. So I played computer games and ate a sprinkle and chocolate covered pretzel. Thanks Mike & Vanessa!
There's this other thing, which has happened before, and I'm not sure what to make of it. My breakfast apple left me with an oniony aftertaste. Our apples and onions are not stored near each other. Why oh why would there be this terrible flavor? I tried to get rid of it with the following: altoid mint, listerine breath strip, vigorous tooth (and tongue) brush, spoon full of peanut butter, lunch, probably a gallon of water. Even now, after dinner and (afore mentioned) chocolate pretzel, it's still there. I wonder if something is wrong with me. But I don't worry too much, just the normal weird amount.
.
I put on pants first, then socks. I maximize time efficiency by doing socks and shoes in the same time frame, you know, since I'm on the floor or bent over anyway. I do not sleep with socks, so pajama pants always go on before socks as well.
.
Now, for today. It's Earth Day! And my parent's anniversary! Happy Anniversary Mom (& Dad!)

I hope you were paying attention this morning.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
my headphones hurt my ears. how sad. Today was a lovely day and I enjoyed eating lunch outside on the patio at work.
The last plane ride was from Orlando to home, for last year's disneyland and shuttle launch vacation.

honey roasted peanuts.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
There was a lot of rain in Texas on Saturday. It seemed like we drove through most of it as we made a trip up to the metroplex for a chick & pig themed birthday party. The party was fun, especially the piƱata. I enjoyed seeing my family.
.
My loose change goes straight into the coin sorter. When a coin slot fills up, I'll roll them. Then those coin rolls sit around for a while until someone gets enough energy to drag them to the bank or something.

give it to The Asker!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I had Total Raisin Bran with banana slices for breakfast. It was wonderful! I think bananas are the only fruit I like in my cereal. Maybe strawberries.
.
It rained some today, but not enough to hinder my travels. Why was I driving and not sleeping on the van? I had a meeting on the north side of town and had to drive myself!! But don't worry, I got to sleep until 6:45!!!!
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
What do you do with your loose change?

I have some Trix up my sleeves

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I'm watching a recording of Tuesday night's Dancing with the Stars episode. Rascal Flats is singing "Revolution" by The Beatles. There are lots of red banners with yellow stars and fading yellow stripes. It makes me thing of Nazi Germany. I'm not sure if that's what they were going for.
.
I love books. love love love. I like how old books smell. My life doesn't feel right if I don't have a book waiting for me to read. I can keep up with about three books at a time. If I could read for an hour every night in bed, I would. I prefer to get my books from the library.

Do you like to have fruit in your cereal? Which kind?

BOOK

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I just asked that question for fun. I currently have no plans for QotD? merchandise. But, if you would really be interested, help me come up with a good logo, or design. Justin suggested Quiggly Orin surrounded by his helmeted ducks. That would definately fit the bill of being confusing to others!
I was soo tired before, during and after exercise class today. Sigh. Even so, I stopped at the library and got three more books. I love books.

.
Do you love books?

in case you need more obscurely themed stuff.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Ideally, I like my soda in a can with a koozy. It's pure deliciousness, and I don't have to worry about getting ice all over my face when I tilt back for that last sip.
.
Anything exciting happen to m? Nope. can't say that it was anything beyond a normal Monday. Just did make some delicious chicken-type soup. Also, I had a cupcake.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Would you purchase QotD? themed merchandise?

Frosty

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I hope you were all able to have a pleasant weekend. I had a very wonderful 4 day weekend. I got to see family, eat some delicious food, eat delicious dessert and the Easter bunny brought me candy. Despite some really cruddy weather, we hid eggs around Grannie's house for my neices to hunt. There was also silly string involved! Also games of Bananagrams and Hit or Miss. I wish all weekends could be that great.
.
I have seen The Passion of the Christ, I think 2 times. First in the theatre with some chemical engineer friends. Second with Justin. I think I cried every second that Mary was on the screen.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Would you prefer your carbonated beverage from a cold can (w/ koozie) or in a tall glass with ice?

Easter: Good Friday

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Man, what was everyone doing today that they were too busy to answer QotD? Was it because it was late? I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you!
.
Anne, I did not bruise at all and she only had to stick me one time. That's pretty good since I've gotten bruises in the past when my veins were more prominent.
.
Here are some things that my family does/has done around Easter. Fish Fry at Aunt & Uncle's house - more recent, but lots of people, lots of food and usually good times. I got hit in the head once. that wasn't so fun.
Back in the days when we still were visited by the Easter bunny, we would make 'nests' out of fresh wildflowers and that's where our stuff was delivered. I used to have a picture of that somewhere. If we make some this weekend, I'll take pictures to share.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Have you seen the movie The Passion of the Christ?

Easter: things you do

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Why so late today? I forgot last night, and I'm off today, so I slept late!
Yesterday I gave blood. I was refused the last time because of low iron, something I inherited from Mom. I didn't get worried about it yeserday until I saw a woman leave before giving blood. But I passed the iron test. Later, talking with Justin, he reminded me about the power of spinach. It's true! we eat spinach almost everyday (raw in our sammiches). But it was not a trouble free donation. I have tiny veins. I had to change arms once and even then they had to use the blood pressure cuff. But my heart is strong and I filled up that bag in 5 minutes! And as another bonus, I got to eat cookies!!

Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Do you or your family have any Easter traditions?

Easter: Peoples.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I love Easter candy. Let me share with you some of my favorites:
These are chocolate covered marshmallow 'eggs' from a company called Zachry, then
mini cadbury eggs.
robin eggs serve as candy AND lip color.
Pink life savers taste like cotton candy.
I used to love Peeps. I've grown out of that some and can't eat more than one in a sitting. This is also why I like my cadbury eggs in a small size. That simulated egg & yolk good is SO MUCH CONCENTRATED SWEETNESS.
These chocolate covered marshmallow 'bunnies' shown at the right don't do a good job of conveying a bunny shape, but they are still delicious.
There is one candy that I don't know how to find with google. Pastel, thin bunny or egg shape marshmallows. But the circus peanut density marshmallow, not the fluff marshmallow. They came individually packaged in clear cellophane. I haven't seen those since my Easter Egg Hunting days.
What did you learn today? I define Easter Candy by marshmallow. (Halloween and Christmas by chocolate)
.
Today's Question of the Day? is
.
Will you be able to see family or friends during this (hopefully, for everyone) long holiday weekend?

Easter: Sugar

Dear QotD?ers,
.
If I had two pineapples, and they were gauranteed to be delicious pineapples, and I had lots of time... I would eat some fresh pineapple. I would eat some pineapple and ~insert other foods here~ shishkabobs. I would try to make piƱacoladas or pineapple sherbert/sorbet.
.
To the best of my knowledge*, one of the QotD?ers was laid off today. I don't know if he/she wants to share with the group, but I know we are all* sorry to hear it. Good news: QotD?er has a plan!

Unacceptable answer: sell them.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I hope you were able to enjoy your weekend. Perhaps there was good weather? Delicious food? Crazy antics? I went shopping for an Easter dress and I found one! That's very exciting to me. Ladies, if you haven't been to a Dress Barn, you should go. It sounds like a terrible place to buy nice clothes, but I've found lovely things at the Dress Barn.
.
I once had the opportunity to drive a Duck (amphibious vehicle). I didn't take it, but I had the opportunity.

APRIL FOOLS!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
HAHA! MOST OF YOU WERE COMPLETELY FOOLED! Approximately 50% of QotD?ers were fooled (including non-public QotD?ers). I say that's pretty successfull. I really appreciate those of you were genually upset and hope you weren't too heartbroken.
.
Back to our regularly scheduled Question of the Day?ing!!!!!
.
I do a pretty good cat impersonation. I have fooled both humans and cats. I enjoy talking to strange cats I meet on the street. I also believe that I do pretty good guitar solo impersonations. As for actual people though, I don't think I've got any good impersonations. aww.
.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Did you have a good prank planned for this year? or have you had an amazingly successful one in the past?
