I hadn't known 'The Mighty Boosh' was British. I love it!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
The AC is fixed! And it rained this evening! We will live our remaining days in this apartment in the luxury of cool air! That does not mean that we know when we are moving into our house. Closing still needs to be scheduled. I'm not sure who is the hold up, but it's not us!
.
Anne must be right, is everyone on vacation? Don't forget to answer yesterday's question. Also, Angel-A and Jeannie posted in 'Meet some QotD?ers' (see link above!)

weeeee!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Bad news, the AC is broken. We've got ceiling fans, a box fan, and it may rain tonight. I hope so!
.
While it is true that America's Independence Day and my mother-in-law's birthday are both later this week, I was looking for a QotD? specific answer. Saturday marks the official 1-year anniversary of QotD? The Blog. If you are reading this on Tuesday, it is the unofficial 1-year anniversary of QotD? The Blog. Hooray! I should plan something fantabulous for the big anniversary. Maybe a country-wide fireworks display!

Something's coming!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Thank you all for being so very excited for us! Hopefully we'll close Monday morning or Tuesday sometime. Until then, I'll keep thinking about decorations and nursing the mild sunburn I have. We went to the pool this morning. My shoulders are a bright pink. I guess the good side is that I'm not ENTIRELY ghostly pale.

BIG! EXCITING! NEWS!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I apologize for today's QotD? being so late. I have very good reasons. 1) No work today. 2) Transformers movie. 3) News that had to be shared with some family before I could extend the news to you, and I totally want to share the news with you guys first. But you'll have to wait for later.
.
This is my answer as posted on TamiJeans website:
CATURDAY
First off, it’s super silly and crazy. I really enjoy myself most
when I get to be super silly. Because I’m a grown woman, there are many times
when I have to be serious, responsible, reasonable, organized, friendly and not
_too_ unusual. But I really feel my most confident when I’m just being fun and
goofy. silly dance? dumb song? bad jokes? nerd shirts? purple hair? phrases of
grand self importance? arguments with a computer? All of that for myself or with
true friends is amazing. I always want more of that.
Also, Caturday is always the best day, for it is a day of relaxing, having fun, being absurd, sleeping in, naps in the sunshine, speaking lol, etc.
Also? On Caturday, it can be hugz tiem nao. I <3>

.
Now for the good news. This morning we signed paperwork to change the contract for a new price. We should be closing on Monday or Tuesday at $20,000 less than the listing price. I'm excited because it means we are getting a house and because it's on sale!! click here

mantra

Dear QotD?ers,
.
For a while there I was crying at every wedding, except my own. I was enjoying it too much! Now, I'll cry if someone else starts crying. I'm very empathetic like that. At this last wedding, I cried at the father-daughter dance.
.
FYI: Cardio Salsa class will make you sweat.
.
For today's QotD?, I'm totally ganking it from someone who ganked it themselves. That person would be TamiJean stealing from someone called 'MizFit.' I haven't read the other person's blog, because I don't care as much for her as I do Tami.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
What would you choose as a one-word mantra? a word that would remind you of what you strive to be or to remember? an explanation of choice would be much encouraged

bouquet and box of tissues

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Yes, I have missed two days. Friday at work I got sick. Sore throat, congestion, fever. This was no good, since I was a reader at my cousin's wedding on Saturday. I'm not a fan of public speaking, so I was really torn on how much could I be sick before it wasn't just trying to get out of speaking. I got some medicine, and made it through the wedding and reception fine. Luckily, my voice never gave out. I worked from home yesterday because I still had a mild fever. Today I had no fever, so back I went.
Justin accused me of mumbling a lot today. In the afternoon, my ears started poping and I realized just how stuffed up my head had been. Of course I had been mumbling, my voice already sounded loud in my head!
.
Still no progress on the house. I'll let you know when I hear some

If this persists, I won't be able to do a proper Chicken Dance on Saturday.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
There is no doubt, I would prefer the naptime. Though idealy, i would want a magically short commute.
.
So, I did something to my shoulder. Probably from all the working out and weight lifting I do ~flexes, but left side only~ It's sort of rediculous because it doesn't hurt REAL bad, and it doesn't hurt all the time, It's just when I lift up there's a sharp twang and i have to groan or whimper. Though tomorrow I'm going to try out 'Yar!' and see how pirate-like I can sound.

i'm just tired right now. and I need to wash my hair.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Our bedroom is mostly blue with sometimes green (depending on the bedspread in cycle). Our bathroom has green mats. The other bathroom used to be NEON green and frogful, but I got rid of those bathmats and cut back on the frogs. Our living room has a green couch and purple things. But it is not barneyish.
.
I really want to paint stripes in the new house. Sometime next week I should have good news about that. There's still discussions and other things happening.

Would you rather have a longer lunch break or a nap time?

Dear Microsoft, please stop making my life difficult.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
My favorite late night snack would be an ice cream snack with jimmies. Lately, my late night snack is WeightWatchers fudgicle with strawberries and bananas.. and jimmies! (approx point value, 2.5 points)
.
I don't know what is wrong, but I have been a magnet for microsoft problems these last two days. I fight it at work, with Excel unexplainably rebooting and not recovering my files that it just told me it would. Outlook was also spazzing on me. And at home it's internet explorer. All of this adds up to a frustrating day. I was grouchy for these and a number of other reasons today. If you were here, I'd demand a hug from you.

muncha muncha

Dear QotD?ers,
.
This weekend I learned that my cousin's husband will occasionally read QotD? but never respond. Bryce! I am calling you out! Reply by e-mail or website and join the fun!
.
I rarely get motion sickness. There was that time on the tilt-a-whirl that Justin mentioned. There was also a time on curvy dirt roads on the way to Mike's band camp that I got completely sick and threw up. (Another thing I remember about that road trip: A new Batman movie had come out and there was a Prince song on the soundtrack. There's this one point when there's a scream - at the exact same time a bird hit the windsheild (4:18). CREEPY!) I am so thankful that I can read and ride and not feel sick. Though this did lead to a complete lack of direction once I turned 16 and had to remember road and stuff (you see, I had been reading the entire time my family drove me around). Other than that, I don't feel comfortable with negative g's, so I don't enjoy most roller coasters, and especially 'dropping' type attractions.

Don't rock the boat, baby

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I swapped schedules. That's why I was off last Friday and therefor did not do QotD? We went to a family reunion this weekend. I like Justin's family, so I'm glad I got to see them.
.
Many of you had good responses to last Thursday's questions. I was pleased with the thoughtfullness that went into them. Personally, I support stem cell research that can help the scientific community learn more about ,and perhaps help treat or cure, so many of the diseases and ailments that could benefit. However, I believe that life begins at conception. Therefore, I do not support research that destroys human life. I am greatly botherd by the fact that there are so many 'extra' embryos out there that will either be left frozen, destroyed or used for science. I wish that was a way to satisfy the desire for children without leading to such a terrible choice.

controversy!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I have not made the move to texting, much less super smart internet connected phones. Considering the fact that we are engineers, and Justin is pretty much a gadgets and toys enthusiast/maker (to me at least), this seems strange. But I really don't feel the desire to text. I have never initiated a texting conversation (*exception below), but I have replied to them. I feel compelled to use correct english, none of that abbreviations and lolspeak.
In regards to the smart phones... there's never really a time when I feel I need the internet when I'm not in a building with a computer.
*During hurricane evacuations, however, texts have a higher probability of making it through the system than voicemails or actual calls. If we have to do so this year, I will once again request communications through text
.
I had four things going against me today. 1) sore from work out yesterday 2) achey from poor night of sleep 3) weak from donating blood 4) headache. I was very glad when the workday was done. Tomorrow surely will be better. It will include a potluck luncheon!
.
E-mail participant Benno's answer to yesterday's question was "Stem cell research makes me nervous." I'm with him on this one.

What are your thoughts and feelings on stem cell research?

Warning: do not explode your jammies.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I'd say I enjoy sitcoms more - at least good ones.
.
Today I realized that I really should get a Black Eyed Peas album (they are a musical group!) They have many songs that have great energy and I enjoy listening to them. Caution, I have not pre-screened those videos to see if they are NSFW (not suitable for work).
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:

P.S. I'm sure there are many B.E.P. songs that I am miss-hearing the lyrics, but I really don't mind. That last one? there's a part where I sing "We're the blast masters blasting up pajamas!" That just sounds like crazy fun!

It's summer now, so none of the shows are new anyway.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I don't have a regular perfume. I remember liking Malibu Musk in high school. In general, I prefer fruity smells to flower smells. I still have some 'peach necter' perfume from a long time ago. As part of a Christmas present, I was given a perfume sampler set that included a cupon for a full bottle on my favorite. It's been a tough job, since there are a few that will smell good on me one day, and not another. I really love Pink Sugar, since it smells exactly like warm cotton candy, but the scent doesn't last very long. Long story short, I do not regularly wear perfume, though like Justin, I enjoy my scented deoderant.
.
Hey! Good news! my 2nd nerd shirt came in today. I picked the red Aperture Science shirt. It is a ladies size small, which I was very alarmed by when I opened the package. It looked small. Justin convinced me to try it on at least and I'm glad I did. It is a form fitting t-shirt that I look really good in. Yeah losing 15 pounds!

Hmm, I smell like cotton candy. FABULOUS.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Friday was our Friday off, which is why you did not get a QotD? We had a date and saw UP and ate at Red Robin. I cannot remember another movie that made me cry so much. I don't know if it was just one of those days or what. But there was some serious crying happening. I completely didn't expect it. if you go, take some tissues.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:

Yo Gabba Gabba!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I went shopping at Kohl's on Saturday. I got a pair of dark wash Levi's (don't remember the 50#), boot cut. Also, I got a pair of mid-rise, dark wash flares! I love me some flare/bell-bottomed jeans.
.
I hope you all had a great day today. I ended up fighting Microsoft Office 2007 and an "advanced" printer (/copier/scanner/fax machine). That's a crazy thing to have to fight. Sometimes I feel sorry for my office neighbors, because they hear me exclaim "No!" "What were you thinking, Printer?" "ouch! papercut!" and "Seriously?" for example.

as long as it's denim (not james. Ha! PS joke!)

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I like stuff in pancakes. The next time I make them, I'm going to use the recipe Justin mentions and put strawberries and chocolate in the batter. I'm pretty sure it will come out tasting like the "chocolate covered strawberry waffle balls" that we had at the State Fair. Actually, I'm excited about whoever becomes our next overnight guest(s), because I'll probably insist upon this breakfast.
.
I have made a purchase. Not a house, but I picked two nerd shirts. I'm going with the time-travel one and the Aperature Science shirt (in red!) I will share pictures when I get them.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
When is the last time you bought a pair of jeans? What color and style did you end up getting?

shmamcakes!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I must have slept on my shoulder weird last night, because it's been all stiff and sore today. I don't like it! My workday went by fairly quickly and I'm about to make myself a brownie sundae. Justin got some VERY good strawberries at the grocery store. They are delicious and will be included.
Jessi, I would have agreed with you, but not on account of blisters. I made that walk barefoot because it was raining and I thought it would be fun. But so much of that pathway is pebbled cement and THAT hurts too!
