New Year's Eve

Dear QotD?ers,

The whirlwind is over! 5 Family events in 7 days. I really don't think we are going to do that ever again, but I don't think there will ever be a confluence of circumstances that would present such a sitaution, either. And next year we should have a baby, which I keep hearing means that people come to visit us. I think I can handle that.

Have you heard that QotD?er Jackie will be moving to Wyoming after she gets married? Her fiance* accepted a job up there. When they asked if we would visit, my immediate answer was "not in the winter."

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What sort of advice, suggestions or requests would you have for someone moving from Texas to the Frigid North?

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! The next series of questions will all be about 2010 reflections or new year stuff, so prepare thyself.

Love,
The Asker

*her fiance being my younger brother, but he doesn't play QotD? anymore, so he gets a second hand reference.

stuff or more

Dear QotD?ers,

Our sent/recieved ratio turned out to be 36/16. Man, that was a lot of cards. And most of that was to family and close familyfriends. We also got cards from our realtor, the OB doctor (well, the entire medical team at the facility, include one grumpus that they stuck on the end of the group photo) and Justin and I each got a card from the managers at work. It's the same card. But we are on the mailing list as individuals, not a couple. Really, they could save the stamp and the paper and I wouldn't mind.

Tonight we did some cleaning up in the house because we anticipate overnight guests tomorrow and Wednesday. Justin is finishing up the bathroom and then claims that we need to vacuum the living room again (I just did that a week ago!) I guess if he does it, I don't have a problem.
I'm real tired, though, so I'm going to fold that load of laundry that I did on Saturday, shower and go to bed. hopefully before the post-dinner heartburn kicks in, but I doubt i'll be that lucky. Seriously. I hate heartburn.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is one thing you recieved for Christmas that you are especially thankful for? (doesn't have to be a tangible gift! think as broadly as you like)

Merry Christmas!!

Dear QotD?ers.

Merry Christmas my friends! I hope you have been having a wonderful holiday season.
We have done too much travelling, but it's been good to see family and friends. We even had a chance to see Anne, Dr. Fandango, Mr. SuperHappySunshineSmiles and Sweetie Pie. We played a few games with them, which Justin considered one of the best gifts he recieved.

Ugh, heartburn. lemme get some milk.

OK.

I know that not everyone does Christmas cards, but I'm curious.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is the ratio of sent to recieved of Christmas cards for you or your family this year?

Don't include the cards you got from businesses or your dentist.

GET IN THE CAR

Dear QotD?ers,

Guess who I get to see tomorrow? A NEWLY ENAGED BRENDA!!
Guess what I should be doing more of tonight? DECLUTTERING THE HOUSE FOR HER VISIT! and maybe some more laundry.
This baby isn't interested in housework. This baby is interested in finding corners of my abdomen to be uncomfortable in. Thanks baby.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Will you be doing any traveling this holiday season?

We will. We'll be staying in Texas, but going north, going east and going west. and south, if you consider work commuting as part of travel.

Love,
The Asker.

they spelled my name wrong at least 5 times.

Dear QotD?ers,

Don't forget to look at yesterday's comments for my responses to your answers.

TodayI went to the dentist, had blood taken for testing AND had another ultrasound.
I have two miniature cavities, the test results will inform the endocrinologist, and LBB is looking like a healthy 26 week old fetus. overall = success.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Would you pay for a copy of an old yearbook (say one of yours, or your parents')? Let's say about $10 for an electronic copy or $20 for a hard copy.

Dear QotD?ers,

I love making marshmalows and then cutting them into fun shapes with cookie cutters. and then I can give people snowflake shaped marshmallows!

We watched The Happening this evening. My what a strange movie. I will not recommend it to you. It made me feel bad about plants.

Tonight (Monday) is the peak of the Gemenid meteor shower. It also marks Justin and my 8-year Kiss-a-versary. That's right. I marked our first kiss on the calendar.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Do you remember your first kiss, or your first kiss with someone special?

from the kitchen, with love.

Dear QotD?ers,

Pregnancy is weird. There are just new weird things happening every day.

My favorite way to warm up is to be in cozy pajamas under a cozy blanket. Perhaps with Justin, but only if his feet aren't cold. Speaking of Justin, it was his birthday on Friday!!!!!

This weekend we went out of town for Jackie's Bridal shower (hi Jackie!) and a surprise 50th birthday party for my aunt. The first was very successful, and I was one of the hostesses, so I mean it. The second was in the evening after it had gotten cold, and I was getting tired. It was wonderful and sweet and there was a slide show of pictures. But I was about done at 9:30. Justin and I danced 1 1/2 songs.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What are your favorite Christmastime goodies to make, share or recieve?

brrrrrr fixer

Dear QotD?ers,

Excellent news: I finished one of my crafty crafts. The Christmas Card Display Wreath is complete! I even have 5 cards on display.

Sad news: Justin forgot to pack bread in the lunchbox. Instead of a ham and cheese sammich I had ham and cheese on ritz crackers. It wasn't so bad, but took some work to cut up my ham and cheese in smaller bits. I really wish it was watermellon season. That would be delicious.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
When it is SUPER COLD outside, what is your favorite way to warm up?

it's a boring one.

Dear QotD?ers,

I currently have two crafty projects and I wish I had the time/energy to do them, because they are Christmas crafty projects. I'm making a card displaying wreath from an embroidery hoop, clothes pins and ribbon. This one is actually in progress. i just need to do the ribboning part. Then I want to make a tree skirt. I've got fabric and I've made a pattern. I just need to get cutting. That part always makes me the most nervous. there's no turning back once you've destroyed the fibers of that beautiful, large piece of fabric.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What did you have for lunch?

CRAFTY CRAFTY CRAFTS!

Dear QotD?ers,

Well, we don't have a catapult, explosives or a sledgehammer to massively destroy the pumpkin. We also don't have any sort of composting heap. Hmm, maybe Justin's parents will take it for their compost heap. Otherwise, we'll just throw it away. Sorry. If any of you want to come pick it up, that's fine by me.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is your current or last crafty activity/project?

Punkin'

Dear QotD?ers,

At Target today, I spent exactly $20.00. It was magical! And then I used a gift card, so I didn't even spend money. I love that sort of shopping.

I spent a lot of this evening decorating the house for Christmas. It looks pretty festive around here. Justin helped decorate the tree. We bought a new, artificial tree this year. It's 7 1/2' tall and has rainbow twinkle lights. This is an amazing upgrade from the 3', $10 tree from Walmart that we had been using for 5 years. I'll have to post a picture for you sometime.

We still need to put lights in the bushes and maybe the trees outside. And do something with our last fall decoration.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What should we do with an uncarved pumpkin we've had sitting on our front porch since Halloween?

Loooove,
The Asker
