I SPY: 4/5

Dear QotD?ers,

1) the lock of hair that was purple, but is fading
2) all the dead bugs

Hey, sometimes I comment on your answers by making my own comments in the day's post. Did you guys know that? It's true. (Except for you playing at home, you get comments by direct mail!). The winner for saddest things was Sabrina, "People sleeping on the sidewalks. Maps showing deforestation."
This afternoon, I walked 3 miles in 44 minutes. PSHOOOOoooommmmmm. <-fast walking noise. I also got to eat pineapple and cheesecake, but in different meals. And then had to watch Justin suffer through jalapeño juice in his eye. That was sad, but dinner was delicious.
I think I'm going to save the wackiest question for Friday.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
You spy, with your little eye, three things that could be from the future. What are they?

Looove,

P.S. New Glasses!
P.P.S. Cousin-In-Law-via-exchange-program, you can go by your real name if you'd like. I just didn't want to tell The Internet without your permission.

I SPY: 3/5

Dear QotD?ers,

In preperation for the 5k race I intend to speed walk within the month, I have been doing some serious walking in the evenings this week. It would be completely unbearable except that I have books to read. Today I propped open a rather large hard copy upon the front hand bar of the treadmill. What, you thought I'd be walking along the street and reading? Not at my ferocious pace! Also, that would be dangerous and dumb.

Tomorrow I will post a picture of my new glasses. They make me look very mature and studious. They are my first pair of quadrilateral glasses. I think I spelled that word wrong. Oh well.

1) gamer headphones
2) little foil pouches that are supposed to keep sensative electronics safe from errant static

Today's Question of the Day? is:
You spy, with your little eye, two things that are sad. What are they?

I SPY: 2/5

Dear QotD?ers,

Today was a really busy day at Work. It was foggy in the morning and thunder storms in the afternoon. I saw two teeny toads on our evening walk. Frogs tiny enough that they look like small hopping bugs instead of toads. I declare toads & frogs the un-offical creatures of the neighborhood. Oh! I need to put clothes in the drier before I go to sleep.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
You spy with your little eye two things that are shiney. What are they?

I SPY: 1/5

Dear QotD?ers,

This weekend I bought 3 sweaters. They are all warm and cozy and I'm excited about wearing them. I wish it weren't so cold in our office building, but maybe I'll look a little more stylish than the bulky, work-issued jacket liner (It's part of my coverall set. It's fire retardent!). Also this weekend, Justin and I walked 5k in preperation for annual 5k later in October. and THEN I went to a baby shower for my cousin-in-law via exchange student program. Word is getting around Justin's family that QotD? is the most awesome thing to do (Bryce, you responded twice in a row.. you can do it again!) Perhaps we'll hear from her sometime this week and I'll give her a better introduction. At this shower was the most deliciously delicious carrot/spice cake with cream cheesey delicious icing. I'd like to upgrade this to my favorite cake of all times.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
You spy, with your little eye, 5 things that are blue. What are they?
I spy:
1) my pajama pants
2) an envelope on my desk
3) a blue flower on my desk organizer
4) ethernet cable!
5) ceiling fan box

Cake: 5/5

Dear QotD?ers,

I was really surprised by the answers to yesterday's question. I'd ask for an awesome castle cake, looking very realistic with grey marbled stone. And there will be a moat and that moat will have alligators that snap their jaws, and a working drawbridge and part of the nearby forest with an adorable cottage with kittens and ponies. Flavors will be pound cake (for strength), italian creme (for deliciousness) and tres leches (that'd be good for the swampy area). It looks amazing!

Today I'll offer you two questions.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
When was the last time you ate cake?
OR
If you were at a party in your honor, and while you were being congratulated by all the attendants, they were serving from a cake with your face on it, and by the time you were able to get cake, the only pieces left were JUST of your face (like an eye, nose and mustache, half your smile, either eyebrow) What would you feel least weard about eating in cake form?

Cake: 4/5

Dear QotD?ers,

I wore new boots today. They are my 'yay! I've maintained my target weight since May!' boots. I like them a lot, but do not yet have a picture to show you. I'll get on that. This evening I did ironing and organizing paperwork. Not fun, but productive.

I couldn't tell you if I've actually had it, but fruit cake has such a bad stigma, I really wouldn't eat that for free if I was hungry. Also, raspberry filling. I am not beyond eating year old cake for a 1-year wedding anniversary (the icing made up for the staleness of the cake) and I wouldn't be beyond eating five year old cake for a 5-year wedding anniversary. That is, unless my parents finally got rid of that entire tier of wedding cake they had in their deep freeze. Is it weird that I'm even thinking about such a thing?

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Sweet! you have won a prize for a fantastic cake to be at your next birthday/christmas/graduation/family event/whatever! And it's the fancy cake makers that are going to do it! What's the most awesome cake idea you could have them create?

Love,
The Asker

P.S. Charm City Cakes requires a $1000 minimum for each cake. But teachers get 15% off. yay?

Cake: 3/5

Dear QotD?ers,

Today was very rainy, but the nice gentle kind. For example, it rained on us during our walk home from the clubhouse/exercize room, but the drizzle felt good after exercizing. Someday soon it's going to become miserable and I won't be able to feel my feet anymore, so I'm going to enjoy this mild fall weather! (FINALLY)

I like a lot of cakes. Yellow, strawberry, moist chocolate, italian creme, ice cream cakes, pancakes, and even carrot cake. The frosting will depend on the cake, but I'm mostly a fan of the fluffy, 'whipped' type frostings and cream cheese frostings!

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Is there a cake or icing flavor or combination that you would never eat, even if you were hungry and it were for free? (or, less extreme, what sort of cake don't you like?)

The Asker

Cake: 2/5

Dear QotD?ers,

Today I had cupcakes to share with co-workers in honor of my birthday. And then I got a bouquet of flowers! There was also a large bag of Reese's Pieces which I made Justin take away from me. That candy is good.
Now I'm very tired and ready for bed. I'll end the chatting part of QotD? and go right to the question.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is your favorite sort of icing or topping to go with cake? (If you don't have an answer, or you only eat pineapple upside down cake which doesn't really have frosting... just tell me about all the liquids stored in your refrigerator.)

The Asker

Cake: 1/5

Dear QotD?ers,

Happy Birthday to Me! IT has been a good weekend. I got some jewelry from Moms and Justin took me to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner tonight. I had a peach bellini and cheesecake (also there was actual dinner). Thank you to all of those who sent me happy birthday messages one way or another. :]

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is your favorite flavor of cake?

about me: 5/5

Dear QotD?ers,

Yay! 3-day weekend! I'm very excited about my birthday weekend. There will be Cheesecake Factory on Sunday!

Wow, I'm having a real hard time thinking of what to type for you. It wasn't that much of an interesting day. I mean, when I got home I ironed and had leftovers while I watched tv.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Quiggly Orin seems to be pretty good at magic. If you whisper something into the magic box of his, it appears!/happens!/changes situations!/whatever! But this only works with birthday presents for me. SOoooooOOO, What sort of gift will you whisper for me!?

about me: 4/5

Dear QotD?ers,

Sweet! I'm going on some seriously awesome vacations! And while none of you had to bring Justin, he appreciates. But TamiJean, it'd be ok to bring Anne instead of Justin. The trip I'm most excited about is Jackie's second entry. HarryPotterLand!!

As I was driving from work this afternoon, I was listening to one of the local radio station. It was playing some interesting songs. One of them had the lyric accusing someone of having a "crazy French-Canadian uncle" which I took as being very strange thing to throw into a song, because how many people do I know that such a thing would apply to? Exactly One. Bonus points if you know which QotD?er I could throw this insult at. (Not that I'd mean it, I'm sure your French-Canadian uncles are all very nice).

Yay! You've all made it to my hypothetical birthday party! Quiggly Orin took the liberty of getting a birthday card for everyone to sign. It's one of those oversized ones, you know, essentially a posterboard folded in half.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
You have plenty of room to add whatever you'd like. What will you put in my oversized birthday card when it comes 'round to you?

The Asker!!

about me: 3/5

Dear QotD?ers,

I love the British and their comedies. Justin and I finished the first season of The IT Crowd (IT stands for I.T.). It's hilarious and may have my most favorite show opening sequence of all times.

Imagine that some startup travel agency has a fantastic marketing scheme. It will find popular blogs and offer a 5-day vacation package for 4 to the blogger and first 20 commenters. Now imagine that someone has deemed this website 'popular.'

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Besides you and me, who are the other two people going on our vacation and where to?

about me: 2/5

Dear QotD?ers,

I hope you enjoyed most of your Monday. The weather was lovely, so Justin and I ate lunch outside. It's nice to take a break from the frigid office building.
I'm reading a lovely book I got from the library, Princess Academy. It's a young adult fantasy novel that is clever and fun.

To everyone who answered yesteday's question on the website, I've resonded in yesterday's comments.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What are 5 things we have in common?

about me: 1/5

Dear QotD?ers,

One of my cousins turned 30 this weekend and we were invited to his birthday party. It had a Clue theme and was a great deal of fun. Everyone wore the color of their favorite person, the movie was playing in two rooms, the cake was Clue decorated and there was a 'Who's quote was this' game. Justin has never seen the whole movie, but by the end of the night he had seen probably half of it, but all mixed up and many scenes multiple times. We have been inspired to throw our own theme party. No, I will not tell you the theme, yet.

I don't wear hats on a regular basis. I have some black knit hats for wintertime, and a maroon ..bucket(?) hat that I bought for probably $5 from the 3M employee store the summer I worked there.

I don't know if I meantioned this when I talked about my mom's birthday, but I love birthdays. I think they are a very good excuse to get positive attention from family and friends. Since mine is coming up, I am this week's theme!

Today's Question of the Day? is:
How would you describe the first time we met?

hats

Dear QotD?ers,

Today was a mostly uneventful day. Justin is feeling better, but I'm going to insist he stay home again tomorrow.

At 09:09:09 on 09/09/09 I was talking to Justin about it being 09:09:09 and listening to a Beatles song.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What kind of hats do you wear?

IT'S THE NINES!

Dear QotD?ers,

Today was a rough day. There were some serious things that came up at work that I had to deal with. The free lunch was meat-and-sauce heavy bbq, Justin fell ill and this evening I found a spider crawling on my arm. Whenever I discover live spiders in our home I feel the need to exclaim "THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I AM UNCOMFORTABLE" in a very distressed voice, but as Justin was sleeping, I had to freak-out quietly and kill the spider myself.
In good news, The Beatles: Rock Band was released today and my Limited Edition Premium Bundle was delivered! Apparently there is a huge box in my mom-in-law's (Jeannie's) dining room waiting for me. Did I mention I ordered it in May, a time when we were still looking at houses and had no idea where we would be in the distant month of September?
Ug. a spider. and I killed one yesterday too. UNACCEPTABLE!

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What were you doing at 09/09/09 09:09:09?

what to watch

Dear QotD?ers,

We have a new fancy pants toy to go with our fancy tv. It's one of those magic dvd players that can talk wirelessly to the interwebs. We have decided to give Netflicks a chance by using their 2 week free trial period. Even though we haven't gotten any dvds in the mail yet, we've already watched 4 things because we can stream them from the internet and onto our generous sized tv.

The most laborious thing I did on Labor day was to prepare for and clean up after a party. This included preparing a vegetable tray and cleaning a chocolate fountain. That second part is fun, but messy.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Are there any movies or tv shows that you want to recommend? We'll probably try anything but horror or really scarry 'thrillers'.

The Asker

LABOR day

Dear QotD?ers,

I've enjoyed a 4 day weekend and hosted two seperate events. All of my immediate family came down to spend the night Saturday, and Justin's parents and sister came over to enjoy food and games as well. It was incredible having so many people over.. and we could even fit in the kitchen and not be cramped! Today (Labor Day) we had some work friends over for snacks and so they would stop asking about the housewarming party. It was good to see them outside of the office. One of our good couple friends also came over and they brought us a flowering bush. We shall plant it in the backyard.

Hopefully everyone will get to enjoy this shortened work week (except for students at Texas A&M University who had class today. Sorry, Jackie)

I have been to the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building (I cried), St. Louis Arch (I cried), The Alamo (but not the basement), the Badlands, Old Faithful and Mount Rushmore. Why did I cry, you ask? I was incredibly afraid of heights and both of those landmarks require rediculously long elevator rides (I was also afraid of elevators and falling to my death).

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What was the most laborious thing you did this Labor Day?

famous places

Dear QotD?ers,

It was another mostly pleasant day outside and we enjoyed most of our lunch out there. This evening, Justin's sister and her husband came over for dinner. They hadn't seen the house yet and we got to see pictures of her trip to Brasil visiting Cuñao and Sabrina.

I'd rather just sweep, but I would sweep twice. I don't like mopping all that much. But usually when you vacuum, there is more of the house that needs vacuuming than sweeping/mopping. That was an answer, right?

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is the most famous landmark you have ever been to? (you are welcome to list a few if you'd like)

CLEAN THE FLOOOOORS

Dear QotD?ers,

Our home is vacuumed! and we have cookies! I am very tired. Only two more days of work and then it's a 4 day weekend. I'm very excited about that.
We had lunch outside today. It was incredibly pleasant, almost like we are getting our first taste of fall.

I'm going to pick stripes. I really like monochrome stripes. I'd still like to paint stripes in our bedroom.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Would you rather sweep and mop or vacuum?

Love,
The Asker
