toasty tootsies (i don't like the word 'tootsies')

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I woke up at 7:30 today! it was wonderful. I'll try to donate blood this morning before I start my jury duty day... Well, I just learned that the donor center doesn't open until 10, so I guess I won't donate blood this morning.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Do you own house shoes? what kind?
.
I have some purple granny-style house shoes. They are one of my winter necessities, as they keep my feet warm when a double layer of socks does not. I got this pair for Christmas last year because my old pair was in the closet and I saw a spider on them. They had to go.
In other news, I learned that they purposely took spiders up to the space staion. This is another reason why I won't be a space traveler.
.
Love,
The Asker

Regarding the word Tootsie, have you ever seen the movie of the same name? I still need to make sure that Daryl sees it soon. It is great! An 80s classic!

Now to house shoes. Yes! I always have house shoes. In the summer, flip-flops. In the winter, fleece-lined moccasins, otherwise known as my grandfather shoes. At least yours are granny style!

I have a pair of suede A&M logo house shoes. They are nice for walking on cold floors.

I have not seen Tootsie, probably because of the name. Perhaps I shall give it a chance next time it comes on tv.

word verification: goteshom?

No house shoes for me - the cat prefers attacking socky feet.

Also, why did they take spiders? In case of space flies?

No house shoes! I really prefer to be barefoot, even when it is cold.

So, I guess saying, "Hey, Toots" is out??

Tami, I have no idea why they would take spider's into space. Imagine this scenario: you and your husband are sitting at your computers.
husband: Guess what got free aboard the space station?
me: uh oh, the space toilet?
husband: no
me: Greg? (the astronaut he worked with)
him: no, something with many legs
me (with great concern): THE CANADARM!?
him: no
me: ants in the ant farm?
him: no, eight legs
me (with great horror): SPIDERS?! Why would they take spiders into space? Tell Greg to get out while he can!!!!!
him: (something about them just getting tangled up in their own webs, I didn't really care because I was being afraid of space spiders)

Anne, my dad says "Hey, toots" or "Hey, tooti" sometimes when talking to my cat. But that's probably not a phrase I would ever use. I'm more likely to say 'Gato, ven aqui!'

I would be likely to say, "Fuera, Gato!!"

Speaking of animals that we try to stay away from, I am thinking of planting the honeysuckle bushes by the play deck, but I remember that Nick has been stung twice by bees and once by a wasp. He may not appreciate the honeysuckle so close to the play area. Harumph! Kids always ruin my plans!!

just flip flops for me.

I think they took spiders to see what effect weightlessness has on their ability to spin webs..

I have creme colored Gramma shoes...that need replacing.......

I have a pair of pink flowery booty type house shoes that I have had since my first child was born. I rarely need house shoes in the warm Houston Christmases. I guess that is why my shoes have lasted so long.
