.
This will be a short QotD? week, taking vacation on Thursday and Friday.
.
All of those things I said I was going to do, I did. Therefore, it was a successful weekend. Also, yesterday I ironed a huge pile of clothes while watching an America's Next Top Model marathon recorded from MTV.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Do your family and friends have a unique tradition for Thanksgiving celebrations?
.Love,

Usually, there is a James Bond or John Wayne movie marathon playing on one of the movie channels. We'll have that on all day. We also watch the Aggie/t-sip game.
For the past 10+ years, my dad's side of the family has had a Thanksgiving weekend camp-out on the farm. Tents, catfish, polka music, chicken, movies projected onto a sheet hanging on the garage wall, campfire. It's a really great get-together. Note: the last two times Justin and I were the only ones to camp out in a tent. We were rained out both times and had to scramble into the house to avoid floating away.
The only steadfast tradition we have is the stuffing for the turkey.
Okay, Kristen. Bob is with you on the celery issue. He hates anything with cooked celery in it...soups included.
But Dad has also had and made a stuffing that is JUST celery...well, almost. Celery, onion, broth and some saltines and gizzards, if it is a wealthy year. And Bob swears it is one of the best stuffings he has ever had. He opts for it over bread stuffings.
My dad makes it because that is what his mother made. He thinks it NOT a Polish tradtion, but a tradition of POVERTY. At any rate, we have never met another family that cooks this stuffing. It is unique.
When the Slonina family all met up in Nashville a few years ago, my Aunt Nancy made the stuffing. There were no leftovers of it.
As children, we'd go to East Texas to spend it with Mom's side of the family. Justin made cranberry sauce once when he was young and that became delegated as his task. I have good memories in my grandmother's house.
