HAPPY NEW YEARS! 1/9

Dear QotD?ers,

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I woke up at 10 o'clock, missing half of the Rose Bowl Parade (dang!) but I watched the rest of it, and now I'm ready for 2010. We had some champagne last night, and as we did not finish the bottle, we had some mimosa this morning. Goodness, it's already after noon 0'clock. I LOVE VACATION DAYS.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Who did you spend New Year's Eve with?

I was mostly by myself, but before midngiht, Justin came over (he was programming and in the zone) and we watched the countdown and kissed and i convinced him to go outside and play the cuica really loud.

Love,
The Asker

I spent the evening with Bob, Nick and Jessica. Jacob was at a friend's house.

I fell asleep before midnight, but was awoken by what sounded like firecrackers in the fireplace of our home. As this event did not shake the house and leave a crater in our backyard, I did not even bother this year to get up and see what those boys were doing.

I spent the evening with my husband. We ate dinner, watched a bit of TV and went to bed early. I heard the firecrackers, horns and a loud wooshing sound close by my bedroom window at midnight. (Yes, they are illegal here as well) I think someone lit a roman candle. My roof survived!! I am currently grilling the rest of the pork loin, microwaving frozen black eyes peas and steaming cabbage. Happy, Healthy New Year to one and all.

I got off early yesterday and we went to Longview to catch the bit sale at the embroidery place (more supplies) and at Academy. We then went to Cheddars to eat and over to the Hollywood theater to see "Sherlock Holmes". We came home and watched "Cuthroat Island" on TV and went to bed around 10:00. All in all it was a very nice New Year's evening.

@ Kathleen,

And now a solution to a math problem that has plagued me for years.....

Jessica and Bob were having some discussion about Ford, the dog, and how much money it cost Ford to do something. I wasn't really paying attention to them. But then Jessica said:

"Dad! Ford doesn't have any money! You KNOW that. Ford is a grown man and grown men take money from their wives and Ford's wife was Casey and she is dead, so he doesn't have any money!!!!"

That quote is better than the one about Bob not knowing where the grocery store is!!

Dear The Asker,
For the new year some of the evil villans, monsters and I got together at a haunted house for a big "Pow Wow", Needless to say I provided the Pow and they all said wow. But its was good to see my old freinds, the riddler, Jafar, Cruella Deville, Pinky and the Brain, Skeletor, and Fidel Castro. But on to more important matters... I thank you for the super fluffy magic cookie pants for my hair but now i seem to be having a problem with mothers trying to poison my food.

To Tami Jean,
I'm pretty much the way you described me except, I am more like an old fashioned drawing from through the looking glass than a comic book character.

And to Mr. slappyclownface if we are going to play the "Is it a word?" game. Confabulate is also a word.

Sincerly,
Dr. Fandango, grower of hair

I spent NYE with Annelise, we went to bed at 9 because if she's up later than that it makes for a very sad baby that night and a very tired mommy the next day.

Okay, I'm really going to try and get back to QotD this year. I spent NYE with my good friend Anne and her husband Brian and some other friends. It's pretty cool cause we realized last night that Anne and I had each shared more NYE's together than with anyone else. It was good times! (And I also enjoyed a champagne toast.)

Martin and I did some shopping during the day, went to Mass, then went out to eat dinner with some friends from church. A lovely evening!

Anne, that sounds pretty crazy-exciting. Your ability to keep sleeping after such things is admirable.

2nd Mom, Black eyed peas! I hope there is lots of money in 2010 for you.

Aunt Barbara, Was Sherlock Holmes good? It looks very excitig and a little scandelous.

Dr. Fandango, was Jafar in human, giant cobra or genie form? Why would your mother try to poison you? Is she jealous of your points?

Angel-A, You are right, sticking to a bedtime is good for babies and mommies.

Sweetie Pie, whoever it was that got you Just Dance hit the jackpot!

Amanda, GOOD you should start doing QotD? more. I know for a fact that you are going to be on the blogger website at least once a day, every day. so no excuses for you!

Mom, that sounds very delightful. I miss you!

The entire W. family minus my sister's family (she had babies just a few days earlier) and my Mom.

All the aunts, uncles, and cousins were there and even a few extended from that group. It was fantastic.

We threw a surprise new years for my Great Aunt (we meant to throw her a surprise birthday 2 days later, but how do you manage that when everyone is getting together on new years). We celebrated at 11:00, then went home for bed.

So I guess new years I spent on my own asleep.
