I think I'm more tired than I let on. I'm not sure why today would be different than yesterday.
I'm wearing pink & blue striped sock with my green shoes. I like having a job where I can get away with things like that.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Are there currently any plants under your care?
.
Love,
The Asker

P.S. I want some breakfast pastry!

I have a small ivy plant at my desk. It is very low maintenance and make me feel better about my office.
No, none that I care for but many that I should.
Our backyard has some beautiful flowers, lily's, lilac, other things I don't know of. It also has raspberry bushes and strawberry bushes. I don't do anything to them except pick a weed when it gets really really big. And pick strawberries and raspberries when I'm hungry.
Many many many. My balcony looks awesome.
The veggies are doing less well than I had hoped, and my mystery plant has a really wicked infestation that I'm currently battling, but for the most part, it just looks awesome.
No plants under my care. Ironic because I work on forestry projects. It's a good thing I'm not the one in charge of keeping those trees alive. Someday I would like to grow my own veggies.
A whole yard full! I wish I had more time to care for them, but I make the rounds every day just to check them out and see if everyone is ok. Lantana and hibiscus are the best for pretty flowers and hard-to-kill-ness. And lots of annual flowers don't die in the winters here, so you don't have to keep replanting. I love my pentas. And my daylillies and amyrillis are multiplying. And the best thing ever is my beautiful fall-colored mums - oranges, maroons, yellows, cinammon colors....all are in the ground, multiplying, and will be gorgeous this fall. Yay for fall!
lots, though my inside ones are doing way better than my poor stuck-in-the-heat outside ones.
We have a garden in the back forty. This year we have tomatoes, peppers, watermelons, squash and pumpkins. The peppers are burn-your-lips hot! Yeah! We have three watermelons on the vine that we are very anxious to pick.
We also have flowers in the front and back of the house that need care and Bob planted a tree in early June that, due to the extreme heat, still needs to be loved and cared for daily.
I am not very successful with indoor plants.
I love the garden. I thank Bob for that every day.
The Asker,
On a none plant-related issue...Anyone familiar with the Chinese culture? Mr. Ken just received an invitation to a wedding in Hong Kong. (He will also go to a wedding in the Philippines in October, but I hate the Philippines!) The invitation requests your presence by Mr. and Mrs. Yin Xu Ji to honor the marriage of their son-in-law, Mr. Simon Yin, to Paulina Ha.
I think it is just a joke that the Chinese are trying to pull on us Americans, much like the finger-pulls that they use for entrapment. It is an obvious puzzle and they are just giggling at how dumb we really are. WHO MARRIES THEIR SON-IN-LAW??
THE ONES IN MY OFFICE, AND BUTTER MY BUTT AND CALL ME A BISCUIT, THEY ARE STILL ALIVE!
THEY ARE AMAZING!
ANY PLANT THAT CAN LIVE THROUGH ME DESERVES A MEDAL.
and some hugs.
I'm in charge of the cooking of plants sometimes, but no.
(woo kristen! i'm back from my wedding hiatus! i'll try to catch up but i can't promise)
i have two gardens, between the two they have tomatoes, zuchinni, cucumbers, pinto beans, basil, thyme, dill, shallots, onions, garlic, and chives. then separately i have mint and a fun citronella plant. but inside i only have one plant, it's a nice big plant but i have no idea what it is. that's assuming that someone watered them while i was gone and it didn't all die!
nope. i have yet to NOT kill a plant in my care, so i gave up. even the "easy" plants can't survive with me. in fact, i think the more i dote on them, the shorter their lifespan is...
i'm doing pretty well with my dog, though!
