more than we bargained for.

Dear QotD?ers,

This weekend, Justin and I decided to add some color to our yard. However, this is not what we had in mind.
Yes, we found some shallow buried utility cables in our back flower bed as we pulled up some old (mostly dead*) shrubs. We called it in and over the course of the rest of the weekend, 3 seperate dudes came and we now have 3 different colors of spray paint throughout our backyard. with flags! We weren't really given any direction on whether we can plant our new shrubs or not. So for now, they will stay in pots.

Other than that, it was a great weekend! There is a rose bush (orange) and lantana in the front flower bed that should look beautiful together once they are in full bloom.

Things that cheer me up: a really good book, electric blankets, hot chocolate from IHOP, game night, naps in the sunshine

Today's Question of the Day? is:
If you had ideal conditions, what would you grow in a vegetable garden?

Love,
The Asker
*shrub: I'm not dead. I'm getting better
me: no you're not ~pulls it out and throws it on the pile~

The lesson from my remodeling project is "just leave it all alone". The number of "oh crap, we'll have to fix that too" that has come up has just been insane. (Did I mention we are getting a new kitchen floor. The cracked tile we've had for years was apparently being held down by the carpet on it's edge...)

I don't know which vegetables I'd grow- I love almost all of them, but hate gardening.

Dear The Asker,
I would grow Venus fly traps, hot dog trees, and a very long vine to reach up to the moon so I can have very delicious cheese with my croissant. Also candy bars that have golden tickets inside them tend to be my favorite.
Sincerly,
Dr. Fandango, Grower of very large vines to make jokes about moon cheese

Galia melons are very sweet green melons. If you find one at the grocery store, TOTALLY NAB IT. They're delicious, and the first melon I ever liked.
