not the reptile things living in our fake lake

Dear QotD?ers,

I came home from work a little early today on account of feeling slightly sick. It's completely resperatory, so it's possible that springtime allergens are doing bad things to my system. or I could be sick. tomorrow is a day off, so I intend to rest.

Pirate name: Kristen the Terror

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What are your feelings on crocs (the shoe things)?

yearg?

Dear QotD?ers,

Like many of you, it has been a very long time since I've dyed Easter eggs. There will be some cookie making on Thursday. Cookies require eggs. I'm going to dye those empty shells! For any of you that are inspired to dye or decorate eggs, you can e-mail me a picture and I'll share it with everyone.

I still haven't put out Easter decorations, however, there are a lot of peepy chickens that have come to visit. and by 'a lot' I mean 100+ peepy chickens.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
If you were a fearsome pirate, what would your pirate name be?

brings to mind a strong smell of vinegar

Dear QotD?ers,

When we got home today and checked the back yard, it appears that someone came and pulled the suspect cable out an additional foot. and part of that foot that was pulled out appears to be completely stripped of major insulation. I don't know whos doing what or why, but I hope they figure it out soon so I can plant my shrubbery.

I would love to plant tomatoes, strawberries, green beans, corn, sweet potatoes, brocolli, watermellon. did I mention green beans?

Today's Question of the Day? is:
When is the last time you dyed Easter Eggs?

more than we bargained for.

Dear QotD?ers,

This weekend, Justin and I decided to add some color to our yard. However, this is not what we had in mind.
Yes, we found some shallow buried utility cables in our back flower bed as we pulled up some old (mostly dead*) shrubs. We called it in and over the course of the rest of the weekend, 3 seperate dudes came and we now have 3 different colors of spray paint throughout our backyard. with flags! We weren't really given any direction on whether we can plant our new shrubs or not. So for now, they will stay in pots.

Other than that, it was a great weekend! There is a rose bush (orange) and lantana in the front flower bed that should look beautiful together once they are in full bloom.

Things that cheer me up: a really good book, electric blankets, hot chocolate from IHOP, game night, naps in the sunshine

Today's Question of the Day? is:
If you had ideal conditions, what would you grow in a vegetable garden?

*shrub: I'm not dead. I'm getting better
me: no you're not ~pulls it out and throws it on the pile~

let the cheering continue!

Dear QotD?ers,

All of your poems made me smile. Thank you very much for sharing your creativity and your thoughtfulness. I should state that Jackie wins and I now believe the best poems end in Refrigerator.
Work itself wasn't better today. And something exceptionally creepy happened. I discovered a chyrssalis in the skin of a pistachio. It startled me a great deal. This was in the last bit of the pistachio package, so I'm left wondering if I've been eating bugs.

OK, back to happy time things. It was a lovely day outside, wasn't it? Really, I don't know. I was inside all day. I hope it will be nice over the weekend, though.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is something that usually cheers you up?

cheer me

Dear QotD?ers,

Tody, work was very stressfull. And it was rainy, so we couldn't even enjoy a picnic lunch outside. Ug. I did have a few cookies for dessert, and they were pretty good so that helped some. But overall, I'll be glad when it is early May and this big work project is over with.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Would you write me a short poem to cheer me up?

ACME brand

Dear QotD?ers,

you have all given me something to think about. I will contemplate for next Thursday.

Today was a nice day, so we ate lunch out on the patio at the picnic tables. It's a refreshing break to the long day. Sunshine! Flowers! fresh air! (times square! ;] )

Tonight we went to the annual Home Owner's Associate meeting where it was confirmed that we have TWO ALLIGATORS in the fake lake and Wildlife Services won't do anything unless they hurt someone/thing

Today's Question of the Day? is:
If you ran your own alligator trapping service, based on the teachings of Wile E. Coyotte, how would you go about trapping the alligators?

prepping for the fools

Dear QotD?ers,

Once, while doing a street clean up in HS, we found a live mouse in a glass bottle.

Next week is April 1st. You might remember that last year I played an April Fool's prank on you, QotD?ers. And some of you fell for it, much to my delight! Sorry for the heartache it caused you. Anyway, I want you to be in on my prank this year.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What would be an awesome April Fool's prank for me to play this year?

Notes: the only person I live with is also a QotD?er. Enough of my immediate family reads this that I wouldn't be able to fool them, though I could make them accomplices. don't suggest anything for work that would get me in trouble. Facebook prank suggestions are welcome.

that's weird

Dear QotD?ers,

around 5:45 Justin's alarm will go off. At 5:55, My phone alarm goes off, every morning. About 5 minutes later my alarm clock will go off. If Justin is NOT out of bed and in the shower, I will grumble and push at him to get out of bed. At this point I should also be getting out of bed. should.

Friday was a lovely day for an 8th birthday and yard work. Unexpectedly, Justin had to work. So I slept in late and went to the library. Saturday was a remarkebly cold and dreary day and alltogether unsuited for yardwork. Sunday was WINDY AS ALL GET OUT, and a little chilly too. But we braved the weather and went out side to pull weeds and fertilize the lawn. Then we had dinner at my favorite restaurant (Gringo's), tried out* desk chairs at OfficeMax, watched some tv, went to church, grocery shopping and now there's chocolate chip cookies! :0 Not a bad way to end a weekend.

Today's Question of the Day? is:

What's the oddest thing you've ever found or discovered when cleaning?

Love,
The Asker
*by 'tried out' I mean we moved all the levers, maybe some spinning, and rolled around between the chair corral and the desk area.

REHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Dear QotD?ers,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEETIE PIE! I hope you all have some delicious cake!

Other than the green clothes and the green pastachios? I harassed co-workers about not wearing green and had baked potatoes with green brocolli for dinner.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What wakes you up every morning? be sure to include a description of the alarm noise for added fun!

greeeeeeeeen

Dear QotD?ers,

It was St. Patricks Day! I wore a green long sleeved t-shirt, a green print t-shirt, a green sweater, double layers of green socks and green shoes. AWESOME. I love really random excuses to theme dress in a work appropriate way. and I had a green snack in the afternoon.

I am going to choose a big gala type event. Something where I get to wear a super fancy dress that someone picks out just for me. and they do my hair and makeup and I look famous. oh, and Justin gets to be in a tux, and then we go down a red carpet and the papparazzi is all who's that? they don't look famous. and then I would sit amongst famous movie stars and watch presentations of dancing and music in between awards presentations or speaches promoting a cause. And in the bathroom I meet Kristen Wiig, Sandra Bullock, Whoopi Pizza Hat (who's wearing a pizza hat), Taylor Swift (because she's adorable) and we all make fun of Kristen Stewart. Meanwhile, while waiting for their wives/dates, Justin has met Tom Hanks, that guy who plays Dr. Who, NPH and Bill Nye. And everyone who has a cat invites me to cat sit when they are off doing something! HOORAY!

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Did you wear green? or do anything St. Patrick would be proud of?

Famous people and meeting with them

Dear QotD?ers,

man o man! Let me tell you about the unusual things I saw today!
oh wait, today was a regular sort of day. I guess it was sort of unusual that I saw dinner guests at our house (Justins Mom (Jeannie) & Dad). But for something truely bizzare? I'd have to look at the purple cauliflour yesterday.

That is some seriously unusual colored vegitables.

Today's Question of the Day? is:

If you could go to some huge Hollywood party or a small, intimate gathering of famous people, what would the event be for and who would you hope to meet?

unuuuusual

Dear QotD?ers,

Oh yes I do like puzzles. I like jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles. I like to race Dad in Sunday Morning Paper Sudoku. The grid-style logic puzzles might be my favorite.

Today we determined that Justin has seen almost all episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. maybe just 1 or 2 that he hasn't seen. (psst, that's more hours than I've watched of America's Next Top Model.) Then, at the grocery store, I saw orange cauliflower and purple cauliflower. I did not know those existed, but they looked very odd.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is the most unusual thing you saw today?
Having trouble because you live a mundane life? What is the most unusual thing that an alien entity, who was spying on you, saw today?

puzzzzzzles

Dear QotD?ers,

If you haven't already changed your clocks because of Daylight Savings Time, DO IT NOW! QUICK! You are probably already late to something! Oh wait, some of you are on spring break. Whatever. Can you tell I'm jealous. Because I am.

Also, This Sunday was Pi Day! 3.14 I wore my Pi shirt, my Pi earrings, my cherry Pi necklace and ate pizza pi for lunch. PI TASTIC!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you did some pi themed celebration.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Do you like puzzles? what's your favorite kind?

Dear QotD?ers,

Good for all of you! But I am probably not getting enough of either of those vitamins. I like to drink ornage juice (didn't used to), so we should get more of that.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Which of your family members is the jokester? doesn't have to be immediate family!

your health

Dear QotD?ers,

I choose Grumpy. Such a rough facade, but you totally know he's a softie on the inside.

Yesterday and today it's actually become warm enough that I don't need a jacket. I really like this change. I can enjoy this mild weather forever! Hopefully it will stay nice through the weekend and I can have a bikeride and yardwork in addition to my cousin-in-law's wedding.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Are you getting enough Vitamins C and D?

short with distinct personalities.

Dear QotD?ers,

I would paraglide. Being untethered in the open sky is terrifying. but attach me to a lanyard and I'm good to go!
Since ComCast has cut off our Mighty Boosh supply, we've gotten the first disc of the first season on Netflix. The Zoo is alright, but I think I still like the Nabootique better

Today's Question of the day? is:
Which is your favorite of Disney's Seven Dwarves?

wind catchers involved

Dear QotD?ers,

Today was one of those no-good days. The kind where you sit down at your desk and there are already 4 serious problems waiting for you. Having Fronteir Pie for dinner was nice though. And I'm going to try to get to sleep extra early tonight.

I would get all panicked in space. The hugeness and isolation really bothers me. SO SUBMARINE!!!

Today's Question of the Day? is:
More choices, would you rather paraglide or hang glide?

lastish fronteirs

Dear QotD?ers,

First things first. The reason Justin didn't join me on my weekend travels was because he was called in for a last minute space mission: j/k. he just loves photoshops. I got to have a good girl-time afternoon with The Minears, Angela and her daughter. They are both cute and wonderful and I'm glad I got to see them. Here's a shout-out to my older brother who might read QotD? every day and just not participate: Thanks for letting me spend the evening at your house! I had a great time! And to top off the weekend, I had donuts and chemical juice with Mom and Dad. (I love my chemical juice and I love you, Mom :] )

I would choose sleep talking. I think it would be entertaining for anyone around. Justin could hear some of my crazy-time dreams happening in real time.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Would you rather go to space in a spaceship or to the depths of the ocean in a super submarine?

in your sleep

Dear QotD?ers,

I imagine a family afternoon out at the farm. As long as we are in the yard and not in the cow pasture (and it's not fire ant season), i'm barefoot!

I am on the verge of a three day weekend! And I'm going to see The Minears, my older brother's family AND my parents! HOORAY! I'm very excited

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Would you rather be afflicted with sleepwalking or talking in your sleep?

BAREFOOT

Dear QotD?ers,

I really don't cut my hair on a schedule. Usually i wait until my bangs are long enough to be bothersome, then i schedule an appointment, which is usually a few weeks in the future.
but here's my husband with his new supershort haircut.

Today's Question of the Day? is:

In what sort of situation might you find yourself barefoot at a baseball game?

cutting with scisors

Dear QotD?ers,

When I was younger, I was an under-age driver a lot. Frequently I am a movie star and my dream is the movie. I will know the plot, because I've obviously read the screenplay, so its interesting to see how my mind is aware of the future while the character I'm playing is not.

We saw three cats on the drive into the neighborhood this afternoon, and then Justin went and got himself a supershort, astronaut style haircut.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
How frequently do you get your haircut?

Dream Being

Dear QotD?ers,

The day started off loudly raining, stayed raining on my commute, but then I was inside for 10 hours and didn't notice. I got to use my rainbow umbrella in the morning, which was wonderful. I love that umbrella.

I would pick a chicken, Swiss Family Robinson Style. Fish riding would be too swift for me with too many dimensions of travel. Not to mention bigger fishes that would chase and eat us! I imagine that, wherever giant rideable chickens are, there are not many natural preditors to worry about.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What's the strangest thing you've ever been in a dream?
this could be actual transformation (a whale, Tom Hanks) or role (fireman) or object of crazyness (been attacked by confetti monsters)
