One of my cousins turned 30 this weekend and we were invited to his birthday party. It had a Clue theme and was a great deal of fun. Everyone wore the color of their favorite person, the movie was playing in two rooms, the cake was Clue decorated and there was a 'Who's quote was this' game. Justin has never seen the whole movie, but by the end of the night he had seen probably half of it, but all mixed up and many scenes multiple times. We have been inspired to throw our own theme party. No, I will not tell you the theme, yet.
I don't wear hats on a regular basis. I have some black knit hats for wintertime, and a maroon ..bucket(?) hat that I bought for probably $5 from the 3M employee store the summer I worked there.
I don't know if I meantioned this when I talked about my mom's birthday, but I love birthdays. I think they are a very good excuse to get positive attention from family and friends. Since mine is coming up, I am this week's theme!
Today's Question of the Day? is:
How would you describe the first time we met?
Love,
The Asker
P.S. Beatles: Rock Band is wonderful!

I don't really remember the first time we met, but I do remember the weekend that your roommate went out of town and you had 48 hours of fun. I especially appreciated that sleep and church were considered part of the fun.
My sister still talks about the time that she came to visit and you offered to hide her in your closet so she wouldn't have to go to Midnight Yell.
Actually I think the first time I met you was at the Harris Reunion and you and Justin brought a dirt cake with gummy worms in it for the kids to enjoy. I thought you were funny and perfectly suited to my nephew. As it turns out, I was right!!
I am not even sure I know you!
I KNOW your birthday is coming up, but I NEVER, EVER can put in my head what the date is!!
This is the storage file for your birthday:
Late Septemeber, very close to the equinox, but NOT the equinox???? but very close...not a repeating digit and not higher than 23, so less than 22.
And I don't remember meeting you.
So I now have come to the conclusion that I don't even know you!!
Full of emotion! Lots of happiness, tears, laughing. I couldn't believe that we had a baby girl! I felt GREAT! You were crying.....a little disoriented, perhaps?
September 20.......about 2:30
in the afternoon
:)
Fun! We all made Tortilla Soup together at the Brown home in Clear Lake.
No idea. You were just there. :)
Clue is my absolute favorite movie of all time. I would have been in hog heaven at that party.
I don't remember exactly when we first met, but my guess is that you were being giggly at summer band orientation and Kate and Erica and I were scanning the new fish to see what we had to work with that year. I remember being glad that you were a real percussionist and not just an oboe player stuck in pit, and when I found out you were a smart person instead of...not..then I was really glad.
Hm. I'm not sure I can pinpoint the first time we met, but I'm sure I was stiff and awkward because I was meeting the boyfriend's family for the first time.
However, I do remember that I thought you were witty and funny and I liked you.
P.S. Matthew's been talking about coming down to play Rock Band on your big, sweet TV. I'm glad y'all are enjoying it!
I recall seeing you first sometime freshman year in Holtzapple's ENGR112 or whatever. Then we met sometime later in the engineering girls' floor when you were doing homework. I remember thinking you were that awesome quirky chemistry girl from down the hall.
I can't remember the exact date and time. I know we were floormates at A&M and probably met at a dozen or so engineer events before we became friends and then roommates.
You are one of my favorite memories of Aggieland. I doubt I'd actually miss my first year of Computer Science if it weren't for the fact that it was dotted with colorful memories of you. <3
Angela,
The first strong memory I have of you was playing in the rain/mud the Thursday night before a chemistry exam. Spit and Poo!
48 hours of fun was fantastic, I wish I had kept my schedule of that.
I have no memory about offering your sister a spot in my horrid pea green closet. ha! I love how we have strong memories that other people don't retain.
Aunt Barbara,
That dirt cake was my idea! I really enjoyed that family reunion.
Anne,
Maybe we first met when Mom hosted MahJong at our house. I certainly knew you as a MahJong lady before a teacher or "boss."
Mom,
I can't remember it, but I'm pretty sure I liked you straight away.
Sabrina,
I remember being very excited to meet Daryl's girlfriend!
Jessi,
I definately knew you by the time I initiated (Angel-A aforementioned) 48Hours of Fun.
Moo,
Ha! I probably was being giggly. I'm glad I measured up to your standards. I remember one lunch, during Summer Drumline week, at CiCi's. Also the song 'Ironic' by Alana Morissette. I heard 'Simple Gifts' on the radio this weekend and thought of the marimba we shared for that song.
Jackie,
I can't remember the first time I met you, either. Could it have been after Church some time? in the Narthex? And you guys can come play Beatles Rock Band anytime. It'd be good to have more than 3 of the 6 parts covered.
Justin,
I remember the first time I ALMOST met you: Thursday night mud football. The earliest memory I have of you is of 'someone' selling frozen cookie dough for lacrosse fundraising. What college dorm student has a freezer?!
TamiJean,
Rita made spaghetti one Friday night and we all ate it in the lounge. I remember being on those couches, talking with you long after the spaghetti was gone. I really felt that I made my *first* college friend. Often when I think about dormlife freshman year, I ignore the first semester entirely because rooming with you was about 1,000 better than my first roommate.
Well, let's see. I think the first time I met you is when you came home with Justin to visit us one weekend from A&M. I also remember going to A&M to see a Percussion Studio performance one evening. I was excited and a bit anxious. I thought you were fun and smart. It was also fun seeing how smitten Justin was with you.
