Some like it hot

Dear QotD?ers,

I went walking this evening! 5k in about 44 minutes. I am ready for Saturday morning.
I got a doormat for the new house shortly after we moved in. It's some gray flowery scrolling on a black base.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
How do you like your chili?

Love,
The Asker

I love my chili with beans and mild. I do love White chicken chili too though. You make it with 2 cans of great northern beans, green chili's, onion oilve oil and a little flour. Brown the onions in the oil, add the beans and chicken broth and some chicken and green chili's and a teapsoon of salt and cumin and let it simmer. Serve with flour toritllias to dip in it. It's a quick but yummy treat!

Not at all, which makes me very un-Texan.

I like my chili spicy and with corn bread( jalapeno cornbread is even better).
I like chili with beans as well, but that is not allowed in a 'chili cook-off.'
Wish us luck this weekend as we try our luck at "Czhilispiel."
May the best chili win!!!

Auntie Barb,
I have eaten White Chicken Chili
and love it, but have never made it. I will try your recipe.

Hmm, I guess I don't know any variations. Usually there is just a big pot and lots of chili inside. Or fritos, with chili on top. The chili is always the same, which is to say, yummy.

Word Verif: beedl. yeah, like Beatle!

You know, I don't get up at 4 in the morning so that my post will be LOST IN SPACE! I am tiffed!!

No beans, spicy with jalapenos and a dollop of sour cream on top. Sometimes I like chopped onions on top as well. Corn bread is the best side. But the tortills chips are pretty awesome as well.

I like my chili with a mellow warmth and the sweet crunch of corn added in.

Yum!

No beans! But lots of tomato chunks. And a medium level of spice.

Must be served with Corn bread. Or on frito pie (which is the only time cheese is acceptable)

When I lived in Ohio we had chili cookoffs that produced very very good chili. But the Gold Star and Skyline chili places (franchise restaraunts) with their "cincinnati chilli" were disgusting. GROSS.

I like Wolf brand when I can get it (not in Iowa), but campbells "hold the beans" is pretty good.

Had the famous Cincinnati chili...it was wierd and I will never recommend it to true chili lovers. And they have chains that serve this Cincinnati Chili!! Ohio...isn't that where most of our presidential races are contested?? I think, based on their interpretation of chili alone, the whole state should be treated like Puerto Rico!!

Dear The Asker,
Cold.

P.S. I have decided to answer your questions in one of three ways. First by skipping every other word in a sentence. Second writing with consonants only . Thrdly wll wrt n czchslvkn wtht ny cnstnnts. Well I may have to reconsider writing in czechoslovakian without any consonants but you get the idea.

Jackie, you did a great job!

Aunt Barbara, tortillas, that would have been good this weekend.

Angel-A, what about taco or tortilla soup? those could redeem you.

Mom, mm, yes cornbread.

Sabrina, personally, I can't handle too much spice. my mouth and throat don't process it well.

Anne, I am sorry the internet ate your comment. I will have a word with it.

TamiJean, i love corn.

Jessi, cincinnati chili? How is it different than real chili?

Dr. Fandango, gespatcho!!!!! ~shakes fist~ czech has some vowels, just many odd consonant pairings

Cincinatti chili is runny and has weird flavor to it. It's also used as a spaghetti sauce.

Mostly it's disgusting and that's the difference between it and real chilli.
