I saw a pirate one, once.

Dear QotD?ers,

Jackie wins for worst insect stinging experience.
I was around 5 and playing on a friend's swing set. I had put my fingers into the end of one of the support poles while climbing around. We never saw it, but it was probably a wasp that stung my finger. ouch!

This evening we tried warm, spiced mead. It tasted like Christmas candle.
There are only 3 days 'till my 5k walk race and I've only walked once this week. It was rainy this evening and I wasn't up for it (and I didn't want to face the shin splints.).

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Do you have a welcome mat for your home? describe it, please?

Love,
The Asker

Yes, I do have a welcome mat and it is by the front door.
It has the shape of a semi-circle
and is faux gray bricks in design.
The 'old' welcome mat is by the back door and is the same design but in the shape of a rectangle.

well I have the "nice" one from Walmart on the outside and the cheap coconut weave one from IKEA on the inside.
This made me realize how BORING we are, so I went looking for doormats.

I have a grass one with holes in it at the front door. It says "welcome" of all things. I think I'm boring too Faby. I change them out at Christmas for festive ones. wow Faby, that's a lot of choices!!!

I gave a stockpile of welcome mats for a housewarming gift a few years back. There were seasonal ones, silly ones and traditional ones. The person thought I was nuts, but has since realized that welcome mats wear out.

Our door mats are pretty traditional. The big mud stains by my back door make me wonder why I even have a mat outside that door. (Those mud stains are just from yesterday, by the way.) Both of them are rectangles, say Welcome and have some sort of leafy desing on them.

yep, it was one of the first things we bought for our home here. It says, ahem, drum-roll please....BEMVINDO. or, WELCOME.

We have one of those faux gray bricks type in front of our door. Our apartment complex is set up more like a hotel than an apartment, so it's an empty gesture, but it makes our front door look a little LESS like a hotel room, and that's why we have it.

I already have my eye on the one I'll have when I get a home.

It says "Go Away" instead of "Welcome".

On a different note, Gage told Jessica yesterday that Halloween is for babies. Our nieghbor has told her about the same thing...that only babies play dress-up, and that is all Halloween is.

Our morning music is kids' songs. This morning we heard the Beatles, the Animaniacs, several Sesame Street songs, as well as your normal silly songs.. Puff the Magic Dragon was one. We all love the morning music!!

I told Jessica that lots of people would tell her that these songs are for babies, and clearly her family is made up of a bunch of babies!! Anyone that will not dance to "Put Down that Duckie!" needs help!!!

I think we do, but I have no idea what it looks like. I think it's one of those brown fuzzy ones, and we got it at target or walmart because it was cheap. It might have some sort of scroll work on it. We had a black non-slip mat when we first moved in, but that was really really really ugly.

My parents were going to buy me one for a move in gift. They gave me a catalog and said to pick one, but they were all like $75 and that just seemed insane so I never told them which one I wanted.

We don't have a welcome mat now. In Clovis, we had an outdoor mat just out the front door and an Aggie mat just inside the back door. Our house in Misawa has fake grass on the front stoop where we wipe our feet, and we don't wear shoes in the house.
