Today was also a complicated day at work. I didn't get home as early as I wanted to, so we skipped our 5k walk this evening again. :[ (that's a sad face) Sometime over the past few days, I missplaced my heel lift (the one I'm wearing because of my functional short leg). (It's only 1/4" worth of lift.) I got a new one, and I can tell a difference. I must have compressed my last one considerably for me to notice. I would like to state that having to use a heel lift, because I have a functionally short leg, sounds rediculous.
Because Justin gave my answer for last night, I'll say what we had for dinner tonight: Turkey burgers and sweet potato fries. YUM sweetpotatos.
If you paid close attention to the comment-answers, you would have seen a pair that also ate similar meals. Since DrFandango is a minor, we shall use that name unless they reveal their true name on their own. It's not the first time a minor has been a QotD?er, but it IS the first time we've had a minor on the public-blog version of QotD? I'M PROTECTING YOU FROM THE INTERNETS!
Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is your favorite appliance, big or small, and why?
Tomorrow, as a united way fundraiser, I will be purchasing a snicker's ice cream bar for $1!
Love,
The Asker

Our George Foreman Grill. It makes cooking things much quicker and easier. I don't really care about the fact that it squishes out a lot of fat and makes it roll away from the food, I just like that it's easy to use and to clean.
I would have to say my bread machine. I love to make rolls and my bread machine does all the work for me. Of course I do love my new front loading washer and dryer! I never knew my clothes weren't clean before!!! Oh, and I would say that anyone suffering with short leg syndrome deserves 2 Snicker's Ice Cream bars!!!
I have no friends in the appliance world!!
At the bottom of my closet of "THINGS THAT MUST BE RECYCLED SOMEHOW," I have three irons, two computers, two coffee makers, and two hairdryers. (Not included are the two printers in the back of the truck that I took for recycling only to be told "No.")
Apparently, appliances and I tolerate each other at best.
I love my toaster.
Second would be my hand mixer.
Glad you got another lift. 1/4 inch does not seem like much, but
it does make a difference.
Anne,
If you find a recycling place for for appliances, let me know.
I take back my last answer.
My favorite appliance is my .......
coffee pot!
I'm a fan of the refrigerator.
I used to use a heel lift, too! But since I have always worn sandals and flip-flops it was really inconvenient to use, and I stopped using it... I should follow your example.
My favorite appliance is the immersion blender/chopper we got for Christmas. It has improved our meals. :)
I am with Anne, appliances are generally just space- and energy-hogs, especially when you have a tiny kitchen!
I like my very quiet Kitchen Aide food processor. It has a small bowl that fits into the top of the larger bowl for making salad dressings and chopping up small amounts. I love all the fun attachments! Lot of power...lots of possibilities, and did I say quiet?
I did not know you had a functionally short leg! But I'm glad your new heel lift seems to be working out for you. How long have you had the old one? It doesn't seem like the sort of thing that should need replacing often.
Also, ice cream bars are a fabulous way to raise funds. <3 (And Snicker's Ice Cream bars are even better than the regular Snicker's, imo. Though not as good as the Starbucks Mud Pies. Anyone else ever had the Starbucks Mud Pies? Holy monkeys are those awesome)
My favorite appliance is the water heater (It's not a HOT water heater. It heats water hot.) I'm a shower/bath fiend, especially now that I'm up in the frozen north. I will cook my food on a stick over a fire if it means I'll get a hot shower.
Dishwasher. Hands down. I spend enough time making 'em dirty... so glad I don't have to handwash, too.
Dear The Asker,
My favorite appliance, hands down would have to be my freeze ray. Not only is it good for frosting innocent bystanders but it is wonderful for making ice, popcicles, and chilling drinks on hot summer afternoons. But once again my least favorite would be my sad toaster made of glass. It's just deppressing. =(

Angel-A, I love how you are always the first to answer. ;]
Aunt Barbara, Did you really notice a big difference in your clothes?
Anne, we used to have three irons. then I got rid of two. the one I kept doesn't have a working steam function anymore.
Mom, I use a 4-slice toaster every day at work.
Jessi, I'm with you. but our ice machine is fickle.
Sabrina, yeah, I try to wear it all the time. which means I never get to enjoy carpet.
Other Mom, quiet appliances are the best.
TamiJean, oh yeah, ice cream snickers are much better. They will only be selling them during October Thursdays, which makes me sad.
Husband, I'm still not used to it beeping.
Dr. Fandango, Just take care and watch out for Hammer.
Fridge - keeps things cold for 800.
Also my electric kettle, very handy.
