We went to the Reneiasance festival today! It was a little chilly and mostly rainy. There was a great deal of mud. I brought some of it home with us on my boots and on my skirts and cape. MUD. I'm trying to get some of that cleaned up right now. goodness there was a lot of squishing. I planned ahead and we saw a lot of shows this time. Many of them had a similar theme: THINGS ON FIRE. here are the things: about 2 dozen juggling batons ON FIRE, 2 whips ON FIRE, hoola hoop ON FIRE, finger candle things ON FIRE, balls with chain (like a yo-yo?) ON FIRE, fan arrangement of batons ON FIRE, blacksmiths forge ON FIRE and fireworks ON FIRE!
Today's Question fo the Day? is:
What sort of entertainment, skill or trick would be more exciting if it included something ON FIRE!?

For some reason the Olympics came to mind. Summer Olympics. All of the gymnastics would be more...exciting? Track...the baton could be on fire for the relay races. Hurdles.....
Hey, let's start designing/copyrighting the 'gear' that the Olympians would have to wear.
Converstation from this weekend:
"Mom, I am going to need the components to make jet fuel."
"Bob, there has been a meeting and your job as playground designer and engineer has been reassigned."
"Meeting? You can't reassign me! There was no meeting."
"No, I just did. No more playground designs from you."
After that, there were accusations of someone being a dictator, of others being irresponsible and a big argument about what constitutes a fun playground.
My long answer is...I think NOTHING is improved with fire!! NOTHING! Explosions and fire are NOT entertainment!!!
I disagree with Anne, fire makes EVERYTHING better! Right now, I think fire would make exercising better. I don't exercise at all, but I might be willing to run to get away from fire.
@Anne
Remind me to work on convincing you that you need a blog. *gigglesnort*
@Asker
I think most things would be considered more exciting if it involved something on fire.
Programming, for example.
"A customer found a bug in the email unsubscribe."
"Okay. I'll get on it." *coffee sip*
Versus
"A customer found a bug in the email unsubscribe. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find, diagnose, solve, and deploy the solution before your keyboard (which I am now setting on fire) melts! GO GO GO GO!"
"AAAAAH!" *frantic typing*
Ballroom dancing with celebrity contestants... ON FIRE!
@ TamiJean,
I am in mortal combat every day trying to raise three kids, sustain a husband, help run my father's business, and prevent explosions and fires for the sake of entertainment at my home. I have no time to keep my own blog!!
I told Jacob what the question is for today and he just smiled. I said, "Repeat after me....Fire and explosions are not entertainment."
He just smiled.
Then he decided to remind me about the incident that I am never to fully know about. It was part of a New Year's Eve celebration that the boys embarked on alone. All I can know for sure is that the was a house-rocking explosion and there is STILL a small crater in the backyard and the boys think it was the best fun ever!! I do know that Nick decided to stand alone and be brave while Jacob and Bob were knocking each other out of the way to get into the house for safety reasons. When Nick looked around and realized that bravery was not necessary, he ran for it. Those are all the details I know.
You can disagree with me, but FIRE AND EXPLOSIONS ARE NOT ENTERTAINMENT!!!
Food and Drinks are always more interesting when they are on fire (and supposed to be that way).
Anne, I can see your point. Fire is usually just scary, especially when kids are involved!
