ivy on my desk

Dear QotD?ers,
.
My oatmeal tastes really good today. So, yesterday we didn't go to work. Instead we watched movies, tv, went to the post office and Half-Price books.

Today I have a pot-luck lunch with my work group. I brought some french bread and dinner rolls.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Do you own teacups* or is all you have is coffee mugs?
.
*not counting formal-occasion-china
.
Love,
The Asker

No, we just have mugs. But most of them are part of the set that came with our Corelleware.

I guess that depends. I mean, yes, I have the one teacup that's shaped like a flower (and I need to take a picture of that sucker, yes I do), but I have one large, white, sturdy mug/cup that I only use for tea.

I purchased it for tea, it looks nothing like the standard teacup OR the standard coffee mug, but it's absolutely perfect. Thin base, so it can share space on a saucer with some sugar cubes and a small spoon or stir straw, without being so thin that it's unstable. Wide, flaring mouth, with a slightly-more-than-standard-8-oz capacity, to maximize flavor from the teabags. It's pure white, so all teas look beautiful and clean in them.

But I don't know if anyone but me would call it a teacup. It's definitely a mug, but it's definitely not a coffee mug.

I don't have anything! My conspiracy theory is that my family members stay up late at night (any time past 8:30pm is included) and gleefully throw away plates, glasses, cups, mugs, silverware, socks and white t-shirts. They try to cover this plot with the confusing tactic of not throwing some white t-shirts away, but simply staining them with grease, oil, paint and other impossible-to-remove spots. They do not throw away actual trash as an attempt to distract me from finding out their real plan.

It must be loads of fun playing this trick on me.

I now drink coffee out of a travel mug. All other drinks are served in plastic cups. SOMEHOW these items are not thrown away, so I now get to load my dishwasher with plasticware instead of real dinner plates, silverware and glasses.

I am envious of TamiJean.

We have coffee mugs that are never used and over sized coffee mugs (like they used to drink out of on Friends) that were bought for the purpose of tea. Kevin drinks tea from loose leafs so they needed to be big enough for the tea ball.

I also own a lot of very nice china tea cups, though I don't have a set of china. They were my grandmother's and I recieved them after my grandfather passed away.

I have lots of different cups/mugs/glasses. When I moved into my apartment, my family all gave me random stuff for my kitchen- so its like a veritable smorgasbord of things to drink from!

Do not have any specific 'tea cups'.
Have lots and lots of coffee cups and mugs.
Perhaps if I actually drank hot tea......
