Hmm, I smell like cotton candy. FABULOUS.

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Friday was our Friday off, which is why you did not get a QotD? We had a date and saw UP and ate at Red Robin. I cannot remember another movie that made me cry so much. I don't know if it was just one of those days or what. But there was some serious crying happening. I completely didn't expect it. if you go, take some tissues.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Do you frequently wear perfume or cologne? What fragrance and what occasions?
.
Love,
THE ASKER!
.
P.S. my first nerd shirt came in the mail. I am now ready for time travel.

I cried as well. A lot sweeter, and more sad, than I had expects, but still cute!

I wear Candie's "Vintage" for the time being. I change about every year ... I wonder if this common? My mom's worn the same Chanel all my life. I get excited when my perfume runs out and I get to buy something new and exciting.

CRY??? We laugh at all the trailers because we swear that the old man was based off Mr. Ken. The kids think it is hilarious that Grandpa made a movie! CRY??? Surely you jest.

I have worn Oscar de La Renta all my life and almost everyday. I had never really thought much about it until an old friend gave me a hug about ten years ago and they broke out into a huge smile.

"You still smell exactly like I remember you. That is great!"

To answer Jacklyn's query, all through college my friends all encouraged me to try new perfumes and told me how boring it was to only have one smell. I got the impression that I was one of the few who was committed to one smell.

I'll take having a certain smell associated with me over variety.

Up doesn't come to Brazil until September! Therefore, we will have to take some (possibly illegal) action.

I love perfume, but I don't wear it very often. Too much perfume can make me a little nauseous. My current scent of choice is Cherry Blossom by L'Occitaine.

We watched Up as well - definite crying. Lots of funny, but also lots of sad and bittersweet.

As to perfumes, I never wore them until I found a small e-tailer called Possets. Now I've got a dozen different scents and she's constantly making new ones for me to try. Most of the stuff I like causes my mom to frown and say "well, that would make a really good candle!" but I like foody scents. Chocolates, gingers, vanillas, marshmallows. Today I'm wearing "Indigo", which is a lovely dark lavender (one of the only lavenders I like) with a vanilla/marshmallow background and a hint of pepper.

We saw Up as well. It was a delightful movie. I did tear up at the sentimental parts, but laughed out loud also! I wear BLUE cologne by Ralph Lauren. I tend to wear the same fragrance for a long time. I gets lots of comments from women my age on how nice it smells, so it must appeal to my age group! Ugh

Anne, that's true; it is good to have a certain smell associated with you. When I borrow stuff from my mom, I always think "this smells like mom." I don't have a distinctive scent. I should work on that ...

Up was good, but I did not cry. I did cry happy tears at Wall*E a few times, though. Ah robots...

I have worn the same Old Spice deoderant (as long as the store has it) for years now. People have often asked if I'm wearing cologne, but I say no. Technically I'm correct. =)

My mom's answer would be "Vanilla Fields" and that other one that comes in a triangular bottle with a blue stopper. It's by some well known designer brand that I can't remember, but can picture.

UP, seriously, I do not jest. From the previews, I was expecting a lot more grumpy man character, which wouldn't have gotten much sympathy from me. but the movie acutally developes his character.

Sabrina, Cherry Blossoms sounds delightfully fresh.

Asker,

Having grown up with the grumpy man character, I will attest that they are some of the most thoughtful, sincere and loyal people you will ever know. And I therefore find old men who yell, "Get off of my lawn!" and shake their fists at kids adorable and well worth the time to get to know.

Case in point....Mr. Ken does not like pets. Every time Dad comes over, Ford just sits right beside him and lays his head against his leg, arm, or on his lap. Dad will say, "Get away from me, you dumb dog." as he pets Ford on the head. It is hilarious!! Ford loves that grumpy old man more than any other visitor we have!!!!

And to Jacklyn,

It was never my goal to have a signature scent. I just always liked the smell of Oscar on me. It is never strong...people do not notice I am wearing perfume unless they are very close to me. It smells fresh and pretty and not overpowering, which is what I found with most other perfumes that I wore.
