The popcorn is popping and it's 3D!

Dear QotD?ers,

Guess who is back in the country!? It's Daryl and Sabrina! Both of their families are happy to spend some time with them. Mom & Dad Brown brought Daryl over and we went out to lunch and then spent the rest of the day at our house playing games and chatting. And later one of Justin's HS friends came over. It's been a fun day!

I think I'll take Mom's advice and go to Wal-Mart eaaaarly in the morning tomorrow in an effort to avoid the insanity. I'll let you know how it goes.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Have you seen many movies in 3D?

I think Avatar is the only full movie I've seen in 3D. I can't remember any others. Hmm. Surely I've worn those red/blue glasses more frequently.

Love,
The Asker

Avatar was the first movie I have seen in 3D. I really enjoyed it and did not get dizzy, as I expected. It did feel funny to be wearing two pairs of glasses at the same time.
Thanks for the good times last night. You and Justin are great hosts. The chocolate chips cookies were awesome.

I watched Up in 3D (the only one I can remember, though I've also been on a few 3D "rides" that weren't true movies).

It was faded and the glasses gave me a headache, though everyone I've talked to about Avatar says they had an awesome experience with it, so I'll be trying it in 3D for sure. =]

Does the Michael Jackson movie that was at Disney World in the 80s count? I can't think of any others, though I'm sure maybe I've seen another.

In an effort to be a good mom, I saw Spy Kids in 3D. I think that was the last 3D movie I saw.

This was the smae time frame in which I had to watch Mighty Joe Young one million and two times to be a good mom.

This brings me to another thank you to TamiJean and her infinite funness. I was having to explain how Hanna Montana appeals to the lowest common denominator, which is why it is an immature, rude and annoying show. I had to invoke the Mighty Boosh as a show that is funny and entertaining, but makes you have some form of intelligence to really appreciate. It was then clear to my daughter how HM requires no thought or intelligence to watch. The Mighty Boosh is creeping up on us to rival the Simpsons, a show in which many life lessons are taught.

(Jessica is not allowed to watch all episodes of the Boosh, by the way.)

Today is baking day!!!

@Anne,
I have seen neither Hannah Montana nor Mighty Joe Young, but I did watch Spy Kids (hey, it had Antonio Banderas - it couldn't be ALL bad).

At least you didn't have to watch that new guinea pig movie in 3D, right?

Yay baking day! I should try and devise an Old Gregg cookie recipe, I think. Green food coloring doesn't get used nearly enough.

...I wonder if I could use gummy worms for the hair?

I took my little cousin to see "Shark Boy and Lava Girl" in 3D a million years ago for her birthday. She enjoyed it be the movie was terrible in itself and it gave me a headache.

Then last year I saw Up in 3D and it was surprisingly good and did not make my head hurt at all. Maybe the technology has gotten better?

PS, "Shark Boy" was played by Taylor Lautner. Heh.

I'm glad y'all liked Avatar! Maybe I'll be able to drag Matthew along to see it with me.

Dear The Asker,
I have seen two movies in 3D, Avatar and Monsters vs. Aliens. And ,yes, evil villians do have time to go and see movies. To TamiJean, Yes! If there was a bake sale and you had Old Greg cookies out I would by a Bajillion, million, googleplex, and other made up amounts of them.

Sincerly,
Dr. Fandango, watcher of movies

@Dr. Fandango

It would probably be inappropriate to use Bailey's in the recipe, but I could probably fake it by making the cookie base caramelly or butterscotchy.

Also, my favorite made up number is Eleventy Billion. I wish I had access to youtube to find the episode of SNL Celebrity Jeopardy featuring not-really-Keanu-Reeves wherein it was used. I would link it now. <3

@TamiJean,

Baking day has been good. Toffee thins, thumbprint cookies and chex mix are done. I think I may have to make more toffee thins...they are disappearing already.

There are many sacrifices I have made in an effort to be a good mom. Mighty Joe Young was not as difficult to bear as anything that you may watch on the Disney channel. When my brains snaps, they will be in danger at Disney.

I think that my intolerance for the least common denominator is exemplified by my opinions of WalMart. Let us all remember that I am a snob.

2nd Mom, thank you! We enjoy hosting.

TamiJean, Aw I'm sorry to hear that UP was not a good experience for you. Yes, you should watch AVATAR for sure!!

Jessi, I'd say that counts. I've seen some 3D attractions at Disney and Universal too, now that I think about it.

Anne, what a magnanamous mother you are!

TamiJean, At some point in your life, you will have to meet Anne and her family. I dont' know when that will be possible, but I'll make sure it happens.

Jackie, you SHOULD drag matthew to see Avatar with you! in 3D!

Dr. Fandango, how did you like AVATAR? Can you tell me where they got all their feathers from?

Sweetie Pie, they are making a lot more 3D movies now. We saw all sorts of previews. Perhaps there will be one in your future.

Mom, You and Dad should go see it!
