let it

Dear QotD?ers,

I stayed home again. Yesterday was about battling the mucus coming out of my head. Today was about battling tired, aches and coldness. I've been sitting under the electric blanket for about 3 hours this evening. I'm looking sad and pathetic ~weak cough~ Sympathy helps me to feel better, so please keep sending it. Tomorrow will be about helping the antibiotics work and defeating a fever. Go Immune System Go!
What do I even tell you? It's not like I did anything of interest today. I did go to the doctor and then to Target to fill prescriptions, but I had a little bottle of hand sanitizer that I used every time I blew my nose. Regardless of how effective it may have been, I'm hoping it reassured the members of the public I encountered.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Do you like snow?

Love,
The Asker

Absolutely! But remember....all I have dealt with is Texas snow. Maybe it sticks....maybe not. Accumulated snow...maybe 1-2 inches. That being said, I like looking at it snowing and the ground being covered in snow.
I don't like being cold and playing/frolicking in the snow....meh...not so much!
We have a chance for snow again either tonight/tomorrow.

Kristen, hope you get better soon!
I wish I could fix you some chicken and rice soup and refill
your glass of Sprite. Take care of yourself!!!

Seriously? Only adults who live in snow-laden areas are adverse to snow. Well, except my Aunt Chris, who loves the snow because shovelling snow gives her extra exercise.

Jessica has been out of school since Monday with fever. Although now she is getting some congestion and a sore throat, but the fever has gone.

Nick came home yesterday with HUGE circles under his eyes and a very grumpy attitiude. He ate dinner and went right to bed, without finishing homework or practicing for the concert on Monday. I'll lay strong odds that he will not go to school today.

Jacob has been coughing for several days.

My kitchen island is piled with teas, honey, and citrus fruit. I am stocked up on tylenol and sudaphed.

I have read hours of Junie B. Jones books and watched while Jessica laughed at my complete inability to pretend to drive a car on a video game. I was put on a timer by Jessica when I went to the store because she did not want me to leave her. (Her father was home. She wasn't abandoned!)

If you came here, I have sympathy oozing out my pores.

The Schulenburg pie is gone. I never decoded it. Mr. Ken has always denied being a secret agent as well. But since he knows your code names, I think the lady doth protest too much.

Ann,
tell me more of this...Schulenburg Pie.
We were in Schulenburg all Thanksgiving break.

Asker, hope you are feeling better soon! Have you tried the kleenex with Vicks? They sure feel good on your nose.
I do like snow, the kind that comes in like magic, dusting the lawns like powdered sugar and is gone the next day, so no ugly, dirty pile on the side of the roadways. The first snowfall of the year is like rainbows, it makes you stop and stare at the wonder of it all. Take care everyone!

Kathleen,

Things I know for sure:

Peacan pie
Oma's making
Schulenburg

Things I assume to be true:

Bob is the culprit
(although there is the outside chance that Daryl, his friend, brought it for him. Daryl and Michelle stopped on their way back to Houston from Oklahoma. Schulenburg being no where near any of the obvious routes, I will assume that Daryl may have picked it up at Woody's in Centerville, a likely place to peddle Oma's Schulenburg pies.)

Things I cannot comprehend:

How Kristen, Mr. Ken and Bob are all on the same side and all Masons and all keeping dark secrets from me. And don't think that I am not suspicious of you, Kathleen, at this point!! Never turst a math teacher. That has alwyas been my motto!

I do enjoy snow. It is beautiful, soft and a little magical, I think, in the way it transforms a landscape from color into black and white.

However, snow is fun and games until mid-April, at which point it is just absurd. In fact, I think cold weather should end by March 20, day one of Spring.

Feel better!

Although I have been stuck in snow, pelted with snow, snowed in by snow, and slid off the road by snow, I love snow.

I think there will always be a part of me that remains a kid when I watch snow falling - it's even more magic to me than rainbows.

Also, SYMPATHY!! *hugshugshugs*

Get well soon Kristen!

Cold weather is my favorite, and snow is like an extra bonus. I love it! Too bad I live in Texas where I see snow twice a year, tops.

I like pretty white snow. The problem with non-Texas snow is that it stay around, it doesn't melt the day you get it. So it could snow one day, and then the snow is there until it's above freezing again, even if it doesn't snow anymore, so it becomes an ugly gray color. That was the biggest shock for me moving from Texas. Even though I knew it wouldn't melt, it never occured to me that it could go months between snowfall, and it will all just sit there.

Also it makes parking at the mall harder, because the snow pile takes up a 4-5 spaces every 3 rows or so. And this is during the busy season.

I don't mind shoveling TOO much, but when it's more than a foot at a time, it sucks.

Snow is cool, especially on your Birthday when you get to make little Snow-Americans out of it.

Snow Americans!Cuz now I have to think about how Snow Americans look different than Snow Canadians or Snow Irishmen or Snow Philippinos!! Hee hee! It is funny. I picture the Snow Czech with a Schulenburg pie!

There is a web site, Kathleen. www.omaschoice.com You can at least get an address and phone number there, but not a lot of other information.

By the way, I used to tell people that I had no pigmentation because one of the defensive tactics of Poles was to dive in the snow and be hidden. I am a walking Snow Pole. Hee hee.

Dear The Asker,
Snow is great. My plan #68 is to turn everyone into snow men. Also, I find that using microscopic submarines is the best way to cure ailments. And no I don not have a moat, although I should have one instaled. Sploosh is the sound my rocket powered boots make. They help to make quite a nice get away.

Sincerly,
Dr. Fandango, Destroyer of microorganisms

Mom, Not true! You've dealt with Arkansas snow and that stuff was pretty real! But you may have been inside with Baby Matthew. hmm. I don't remember. Anyway, we'll go on that sleigh ride in Colorado and I'll convince you to build a snow man

Anne, Three sick children? no good! Though I'm glad you kept Jessica entertained and I'm curious which driving game you played. Did the Brookshires help you keep under your time limit?

2nd Mom, your description is wonderful! I'll be sure to think of it tomorrow.

Anne, ~points~ HA! you have been a math teacher yourself! you are not to be trusted!

Sabrina, you have definatly had more snow experience if you are thinking about it in mid-April. That's just crazyness! I can't imagine living like that!

TamiJean, I hope you don't fall in a ditch this season. Instead, I hope you will collect more magical snow experiences. and thank you! ~hugshugs~

Jackie, snow is the only part of cold weather that I really do like. Hopefully you'll have a delightful day tomorrow!

Jessi, old snow is gross. especially when they mix gravel in the street to get traction.. unless that's just something they do in Colorado during snow season.

Justin, as you know, i'm still working on it. but I don't remember them being snow-americans last year. they were very short!

Anne, did people believe your snow-Poles story?

Dr. Fandango, if you could, please send some submarines for my upper resperatory infection microorganisms. I would not have expected 'sploosh' as a rocket boot sound. Nice misdirection
