Merry Christmas Eve!

Dear QotD?ers,

It is wiiiindy outside today! Don't take out small children attached to kites or balloons!
We saw Avatar again yesterday, but at the IMAX. Justin thought it was EVEN BETTER on IMAX, which is where I originally wanted to take him. (I told him never to doubt me again.) We went with Justin's family, and then had dinner and game night at the parent's house.
Today is just us by ourselves. We finished wrapping gifts this morning. We'll make a trip to the grocery store this afternoon, go to an afternoon/evening Christmas mass, open one present and then gather everything that we'll need for the various Christmas events we have going on in the next 3 days.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Have you had mulled wine, hot apple cider, wassail, eggnog or any of the other 'christmastime' drinks? (this season or ever, you may answer as you desire)

Love,
The Asker

Wow, the wind is unbelieveable. A few minutes ago, it inflated the patio umbrella, then lifted it straight up and landed it in the backyard.
Yes, I have had wassail several times lately, both at school and at home. Fabia made some delicious homemade eggnog and shared it with us when we all got together last weekend. Looking forward to seeing you both tomorrow!

Your small children comment amused everyone in my apartment, which includes my mom, who said "Who is Kristen again?" and I said "The good roommate!" and she smiled real big and said "Oh yeah!"

<3 I miss you, sometimes.

Anyway.

I tried hot apple cider and it's awesome, though I like the stuff that's gently spiced instead of heavily spiced.

I also tried egg nogg this year. It was...not for me. The aftertaste was like...perfumy or something.

I had some eggnog earlier this year at our office party. (Not spiked, of course)

I love eggnog but Kevin thinks it's like drinking paint, and I don't want to drink a whole carton.

Merry Christmas!!

Spiced cider. I am not an eggnog fan. I tried it once and I think Kevin may have the recipe down!!

We have all Christmas Day to ourselves!! A first in the twenty some odd years I have known Bob! AND there is snow on the ground!!!!

There were footprints in the fireplace this morning and Jessica confirmed that Santa ate all the cookies last night. The footprints now give her documented proof of Santa and that's a quote!!

Yesterday we picked up my brother and went to my mom and dad's home. Dad made lamb and GOAT!! He also had dates out for noshing. Very authentic?

We came home to unload and rest and then went to Bob's parents for the evening. Tortilla pinwheels, mini corndogs and nacho cheese dip were the fare. Going there the roads were already slick, but coming home they were downright treacherous. When Bob says he needs everyone to remain quiet and still so he can drive, it is dangerous driving conditions.

Jacob is cooking a rib roast for us today. Actually, he has a three course meal planned, so I am excited!!

BUT guess what my family got me for Christmas?

No, you'll never guess.

A CELLO!!!!

Now I have to learn to play it! BUT A CELLO!!!!

Jacob made tomato basil soup that was delicious, but his prime rib roast was spectacular!! And the gravy he made for is was veyr rich and delicious! It was a meal that would have made my dad happy. A salad, asparagus and potatoes finished off the meal and he still had a dessert waiting for us.

I loved having the day to ourselves!

We had a wonderful Christmas. The only person we missed seeing was Daryl and Sabrina. I have had all of the above drinks this year. I actually made mulled wine for Christmas Eve and it turned out wonderful. Had eggnog and cider at Jeannie's and again at Christmas. I love for it to be cold and drink festive drinks.

2nd Mom, Thanks for a great Christmas!

TamiJean, I'm glad I could bring a little extra to everyone. Gently spiced sounds best.

Jessi, like paint? that's a pretty strong reaction!

Anne, sounds like a fabulous Christmastime!

Sweetie Pie, It sounds like I need to have some more apple cider!

AUnt Barbara, Good stuff! Sabrina and Daryl are doing great!
