This fact will serve no purpose

Dear QotD?ers,

Thank you for all of your thermostat responses. I still need to work out what I can stand. Not that I feel the need to be a thermostat grinch, but there should be a range where all non-feet parts of my body are comfortable. In 'winter,' it's not reasonable to control foot temperature by thermostat. If two pairs of socks and a blanket aren't enough to instigate foot warmth, I give up and block out the coldness.

This evening I went to Hobby Lobby so I could look at christmas trees and other christmas decorating items. we have a whole big house this year and I'd like it to look christmassy! i was flaberghasted when I saw there was less than 1/2 the amount of christmas stuff they had the week before thanksgiving. They had spring garden stuff out already! WHAT IS GOING ON, HOBBY LOBBY!?!

Today's Question of the Day? is:
How many trash cans are in your abode?

love,
the Asker

1 small trashcan in Master bathroom
1 small trashcan in 'kids' bathroom
2 small trashcans in 2 bedrooms
1 large trashcan in kitchen
1 small trashcan in laundry room

Wow! 6 in all. That sounds like a lot of trashcans. I am curious about other responses.

3 small ones in bathrooms
1 small one in laundry room
1 regular size in kitchen

5 total

We went to the high school last night for a Christmas concert. Yeah bands!! They are fun!

2 cans for trash (one kitchen, one bathroom) and one recyclables (kitchen).

Also, I will echo your confusion at Hobby Lobby! Just doesn't make sense.

Ants:

That tip would be helpful if I could ever FIND the line of ants!! So far I have found swarming, chaotic ants over the kitchen sink, in the laundry pile to be washed (that was plenty annoying), and in the back bathroom. So I have sprayed the door jam at the back and around the foundation and things seem to be better. Not your hoistic appraoch, but that would be a messy, paste-y experience. And I have to laugh...Oh, the little ants afraid of some floride??

Hobby Lobby:

well, you and TamiJean are not Martha Stewart wannabes just yet. The Christmas stuff goes out right after Halloween. The run is on at that point. If you wait another week or so, they will start reducing prices. AND, better yet, if you wait until after Christmas, it will all go 50-60% off and you can have a beautiful home NEXT year. But the selection is reduced at that point, as all the MS wannabes have already purchased and decorated. THEY had their holiday theme picked out and delineated in July!

Where do you take your recyclables?? My parents said Rosenberg canceled their recycling program. :( I hope that changed.

We have two little trash cans, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. We dump them into the building trash can for our floor. I am sad our neighborhood canceled recycling this year.

Used ones? Or total? Here's total:

2 bathroom trashcans (1 each)
1 kitchen trashcan
1 office trashcan + 1 trashcan for the shredder paper
1 trashcan in the spare room that never ever gets used
1 bag on the back of the laundry room door for lint (I think that counts)
1 craft room trashcan
1 giant put out the trash trashcan in the garage
1 old trashcan before the city provided them

So that's 9 trashcans

1 trashcan in the bathroom
2 trashcans in the bedrooms
2 trashcan in the kitchen (trash and recyclables)
1 trashcan in the garage which the city provides to put on the curb every Wednesday.

6 Total.

Wow. That's kind of a lot for our tiny house.

Wow, we sure have lots of trash cans in this group!
One in each bath = 3 (and a small counter top trash can for the vanity)
One in the kitchen = 1
One for recycles = 1
One in the study = 1
One in the upstairs TV room = 1
Large can for trash day and one large GREEN can for recycles.
Total = 10

One for the kitchen trash
One for recyclables
One in the utility room
One in the downstairs bathroom
One in John's bathroom
One in my toilet room
One in my bathroom/vanity
One in our bedroom
One in Annelise's room
One outside that's used to hold charcoal and other grilling stuff
Two bright blue outside to put the bags of trash in for the sweet little trashman.

So 9 or 12, depending on whether or not you want to include the outside trashcans.

Well....I did not include our 1 inside recycle can , nor the 2 blue recycle bins outside, nor the 2 outside trash cans for the garbage man.
