11 days

Dear QotD?ers,

We had a busy weekend. I got all of the christmas cards written and addressed and mailed, birthday dinner at the Brown's house Friday night. Saturday we went to College Station for the Percussion Studio show (which was wonderful) then drove home afterwards. Sundy after church I drove up to The Woodlands to have lunch with some friends and had a great time. We talked a lot and there were baby shower gifts (for Lauren, not me). I got home late (yes, it was a very long 'lunch') after a little shopping and still had things to do at home before bed. These next two weeks should be much les busy. I really need to put up Christmas decorations.

Today's Question of the Day? is:

Are you in the Christmas Spirit yet?

Love,
The Asker

I am actually! I decorated the inside of the house this weekend and am meeting with friends tonight for Christmas-in-a-cup at Starbucks. Morgan and I are going to decorate our Charlie Brown Christmas tree later and I'm hoping to be done with my shopping by the end of the week.

After tomorrow at 5:30 I will be done with my last final and then it will really feel like Christmas.

Kinda?

I find I have even less patience waiting for people to open gifts I give them than to open gifts for me. For example: I think you should open you gift now.

ACCCKKKKK! What!?? Eleven days???

That would explain why Jessica was asking when we are going to put up our tree this morning.

I have been struggling and fussing over a mere $725.00 in the books and the books need to be finalized by today. I will refocus for the holidays once I get this part of my life finished.

eh...

I asked Kevin this weekend if he wanted to get the decorations out. He said no. So we aren't decorating. The boxes in front of them are too heavy for me...

I did mail all my presents though- including a Killer Bunnies game. (I wanted to keep that one)

I'm kind of in the Christmas spirit. I am looking forward to seeing Annelise on Christmas morning. I made some fudge last night, so that helped. The house is decorated but I realized last night that Christmas threw up all over this one section of my house and now I feel an overwhelming need to fix it.

'Christmas throwing up' is the term I use to describe a whole bunch of decorations all in one space. Christmas used to throw up in my parents' house. Mom got new stuff from students and friends every year and never got rid of any of the old stuff, so there was more and more stuff each year. Then a few years ago she did a massive clean-out and now it looks very nice. You mainly see this in front yards where the whole house is covered in lights and you can't see the grass for all of the inflatable/light-up/moving STUFF in the yard. It happened a lot in Clovis and also happens on military bases where you don't pay your own power bill. I have Christmas Issues.

Right now this one large shelf above our heater has the nativity scene, our small ornament tree with traditional ornaments on it, several angels, four snowmen, a candlestick holder, and another tree decoration thingy. It's too much that doesn't coordinate to all be one one shelf and it will be fixed soon. I'm going to pack away a few items and move some of the other stuff to other places in the house.

Yes, I am in the Christmas spirit!
The cold weather helped! My drive home from school in the evening......is wonderful.
Lots of lights on homes......... on the way home.
My shopping is just about done. Still need to do baking.....apple strudel and pecan pralines and sugar cookies.....we'll see what else as time allows.
