Thanksgiving: 2/3

Dear QotD?ers,

Guess who is in my living room? It's Jackie! Hi Jackie! (She's reading a book right now, so she won't see this until later.) Today is Annelise's 1st birthday. She's the youngest supporting contributor and I know Angela is very excited and proud. That baby is cute, btw.

Unusually, we are hosting thanksgiving this year. Also unusual, we will be shooting guns this weekend (still unusual for me at least) and Fondu. eating, not shooting

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is something that you are truly thankful for this year?

Love,
The Asker

I am thankful for you, Asker! You make me feel cool, contributing to a blog! I am also thankful for my wonderful husband and family. I am thankful that each of my children has been blessed with the perfect person to compliment and complete them and bring happiness into their lives. I am thankful that I know and believe in God who loves me in spite of myself and who reveals more about love and life to me each day. I am truly thankful that I know how to cook....yum, yum today! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Jeannie! You're the best! What a great way to start the day!!

I am thankful that the most important people in my life are all silly and fun. They bring balance and smiles to life.

But I really hope that I do not have to listen to the "Men Fix Everything" song again today. That kind of sexist silliness steps over the line!!!

Mr. Ken is preparing Thanksgiving this year. And I am thankful for that! That man can cook!! Jacob went yesterday to help him. There will be a turkey, a rack of lamb and lobster tails. (Clearly Mr. Ken is not aware that we are in an economic downturn!) I think that counts in the unusual category!

And I am thankful that even on Thanksgiving, QoTD is part of my day!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!
P.S. Is it significant that Jackie is in Houston with the Svateks today, as opposed to in Midlothian?

Wow, I'm grateful for so many things this year.

Let me think...

...this year, I am grateful for time.

I have time to spend with my family, my husband has time to go to college, I have time to pursue a ton of hobbies.

There are years in our lives where it seems we don't have time to do anything at all. I am grateful that this year is a year where I do have time. =]

I am thankful for so many things. My husband and daughter, my parents, sisters, and brother-in-law, John's family, our extended families, my Aggie family (that includes you, Asker!), and my Air Force family. I'm also thankful that God didn't ask my opinion when he sent us to Japan. It's not what I would have picked, but I wouldn't trade it for anything!!

Mom-in-law, You are very welcome! I support anything that ups a coolness factor. And thank you again for calling me perfect ;]

Anne, Thanksgiving sounds delicious. I hope you enjoyed three kinds of meet and all the trimmings.

Dr. Fandango, you are a true award winner.

TamiJean, I know you've been working hard on time and making it what you need. I'm glad you are enjoying all you have.

Angel-A, That God really knows what he's doing! Too bad he couldn't give the Aggies some more time.

Hi Kristen!

I am thankful for the amazing Thanksgiving break that I had! It was very fun, nice and relaxing, and I got to eat plenty of food and hang out with friends and family.

Anne, I went to the Brown/Svatek Thanksgiving, then back to College Station for the game, and then to visit my family yesterday and today.
