Thanksgiving: 1/3

Dear QotD?ers,

It's a day off!!! Hooray! That's right, it's the begining of a 5-day holiday! I hope all of you get a little more time than a usual weekend to relax and enjoy friends, family or James Bond Marathons.

Other than the earlier mentioned movie, I dislike the actors who played Annikan Skywalker. It probaly didn't help that the character was written as a whiney brat.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Do you have any unusual activities planned for the Thanksgiving season?

Love,
The Asker

My mom's coming down to visit, but it won't be a huge family get-together with tons of food - it'll probably just be a lot of rockband.

That's pretty unusual, I think.

Okay, we don't have RockBand. But there is no point, when you can play real band in the front room anyway. So if TamiJean thinks that is unusual, I am confused.

The looming teenager was playing some game yesterday that he professed to be like real life. I watched for a bit and became confused.

"I have never gotten up, grabbed my spear and fought a dragon. How is this like real life? Where are the kids demanding to be fed and the husband asking where you hid his belt?"

"This is totally like real life! You forgot the shield you need to fight the dragon. Hey, Dad! Don't you get up every morning, grab your sword and shield and fight dragons?"

"Yep. That describes my life perfectly."

You know what that game is missing? A nagging wife and mother. There should be a character that stands there and says, "I asked you to take out the trash three times already!! TAKE OUT THE TRASH!!"

I don't know what Rock Band is like, but I hope that you get to act out scenes like, "I got here first! Go away!" and "Don't play so loud. It ruins my song!"

Two rounds of Thanksgiving and it's not even America. That is unusual. :)

Working on Thanksgiving, that is also unusual. :(

Dear The Asker,

I have started working on my giant turkey-bot. Which I will use to make all of the stuffing in the world unusually moist for Thanksgiving. People everywhere will be saying to themselves, "How strange, the stuffing wasn't this wet last year." Bwahahahahahaha!!!

Sincerly,
Dr. Fandango, Commander of Turkeys

My parents are in Japan, that is unusual. Otherwise we're keeping it pretty normal, turkey and dressing (no stuffing, that's gross), lots and lots of food, and a party for Annelise's first birthday. There are lots of presents from people who aren't even here, I hope she learns to like tearing paper. Most kids do, but she hasn't taken to unwrapping gifts so far.

TamiJean, Moms and rockband? that sounds fantastic. I'm hoping we can get mine to play.

Anne, there's almost a game like you are describing, but Sims doesn't have yelling in it.

Sabrina, will you have any 'traditional' foods?

Dr. Fandango, I will keep an eye out for your Turkeybot. I look forward to seeing it.

Angel-A, Thanksgiving In Japan! That's pretty unusual, but I hope you guys have fun with your parents.

Asker, LOTS of traditional food! Wouldn't be Thanksgiving without it. We even got some imported cranberry sauce. :) Have fun!

OK, I have to reply from work. I don't know about unusual but does a "Texas Shootout" count? And burying Nana? And spending time with all my wonderful Brown family? I think this is going to be the best Thanksgiving ever!!!
