Tootie Fruities

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I really liked yesterday's Question, so if you haven't answered it yet, please do!
.
Our refrigerator is now more clean than it has ever been and smells faintly of bleach. In it you will find some fresh ice, water pitcher, three oranges, 3 apples, 2 dishes of baking powder.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
How often do you clean your ears?
.
Love,
The Asker

At least once a day. It's not so much cleaning as it is drying. Wet ear canals is a bothersome sensation to me, so I must dry them out after I bathe.

Jacob likes to expend a lot of metabolic energy on ear wax production and all I know for certain is that he did not inherit that gene from me. I take him about twice a year for professional ear vacuuming and it is very fun to watch on the monitor. The whole family enjoys that!

As for me, a little alcohol and a cotton swab a few times a month and life is good.

Like with Q-tips? Once a week maybe?

Just so everyone knows, Kristen worked really hard last night on our fridge. It is now pristine! We could probably rent it out to NASA as a spy satellite assembly clean room. Thanks Kristen!

Hmm. I don't think I've shared this with anyone except my mom and maybe anyone I have ever shared a bathroom with.

Every 2 days or so.

I wipe them with a q-tip every couple of days.

I never do "ear candling" or any of those sorts of things.

Useful information:

Q-tips are not good for cleaning the ear canal. They compact and compress the earwax. Best method, especially for younger ones, for ear wax removal is a drop of mineral oil to loosen and then lie on a heating pad. The candles are all right, but Jacob found that they "hurt" his ears. That is personal perference, though. The candles also work best if you use a drop of mineral oil first...like dissolves like!!

Alcohol and Q-tips are fine for cleaning all the outside crevices of the ear and alcohol is always good for rinsing water out of the ear. A rinse of equal parts alcohol and vineager are best for after swimming.
