Ike is very confused. Last night he was thinking about coming straight for us. This morning he's headed towards Brownsville. We are watching him closely. Amanda, you can evacuate to our apartment, that is, if we don't evacuate to CoSta. Moo, if we evacuate, we won't come to the party. But really it's all up in the air.

Last night we went to an Astro's game and the only thing we paid for was $4 for 4 hotdogs and $5 for cotton candy. We had free $50 seats and our friends did the driving. It was awesome.

My favorite professional team would be the Texas Rangers baseball team.
Mostly I'm a bandwagon fan, as I'm not actually interested in sports. Growing up,The Rangers were close, I knew some of the players (Nolan Ryan! Who has a state highway named after him! Come visit me and we can drive on it?) and actually went to Rangers games. Unlike the Cowboys where I also knew players (Troy Aikmen, for ACME bricks!) but never went to a game. Also, The Ballpark has dot races. Those were way better than the "Hummer Race" that I saw last night.
Also, why is there a 'Charge!' cheer as baseball games? That doesn't make any sense.
I have no good answer. In 2004, during the World Cup, the boys and I watched most of the games. Nick was a big fan of Brazil, but I think this had more to do with the Brazilian fans than the team. (Scantily clad Brazilian women have a certain allure.) We had a blast and learned new national anthems and which countries we wanted to visit someday. That is the most support we have ever given a sport or a team in this house. And,yes, we were rooting for Italia!!
Astros I guess, although I'd much prefer to watch teams compete on Robot Wars.
And I am oooookay with Ike heading south.
i would definitely say that the astros are my favorite professional team. they are the only team that i actually follow throughout the season. unfortunately, i am skeptical about their post-season chances this year....
i think that the desert in mexico needs some rain....!
Evacuate? there must be another hurricane or something. I hope when you say evacuate to CoSta you mean you'll be visiting me. Not to say that I hope you have to evacuate.
as for the question:
This is a tough one. Not because I have so many teams I root for, I just don't really care about any team. I like watching pro sports but I never really favor either team. For the sake of an answer, ill say the Cowboys. America's team
I don't believe I have one.
If I have to have one, I pick the 49ers, only because I was born on a day they won the super bowl.
The Onion is selling t-shirts that say "The sports team from my area IS SUPERIOR TO the sports team from your area." That made me chuckle.

I haven't been to any professional baseball games except for the Houston Dynamo, which is Houston major league soccer team. They are REALLY fun and I would highly encourage anyone in the Houston area to go see them. Kristen, I appreciate the invite AND my football game plans might change as well. I'll have to keep you updated on that!
