mmmmmmmmmm, potatoes

Dear QotD?ers,

Did you see that? Our weekend guest commented on the last post! Thanks Moana, we are so glad you could come. We ate good food, saw Toy Story 3 (and cried, except for Justin, who denies crying), and played about every non-traditional boardgame we own. And all the while we chatted and gossiped and told stories about our lives. It was the best sort of weekend.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is your best potato eating experience? Don't have one? make one up!

Love,
The Asker

I loved eating at the Potato Shack in College Station. It is where my love of potatoes with stuff came to be.

Thanks Anglea for that.

So potatoes with stuff makes me think of good friends.

Looking forward to the next fun weekend.

I love potatoes!
Mashed potatoes, twice baked potatoes, baked potatoes, stuffed baked potatoes, scalloped potatoes, boiled potatoes with butter, fried potatoes, potatoe soup..... And I love red potatoes
more than regular Idaho potatoes.
We have not had any luck growing potatoes in our garden.
Sweet potatoes are also excellent in any form of preparation.

I'm looking at the word potatoe and it looks 'goofy', doesn't it?
ha
@Anne,
I'm sending you an e-mail today.
Please check.

I think my best potato eating experience had to be the time I ate that magic potato. I traded in two packs of pokemon cards and a peanut butter sandwich for the thing. It tasted just like any other potato (which is to say, flaky and delicious) but that night, the spirit of the eaten potato returned to me and demanded vengeance for his death. My assertions that I had no idea he was a sentient potato were all ignored. He waved a peapod at me and turned me into a carrot!

Oh, the adventures I had, escaping the wiley Baron Von Bratwurst and his fiendish army of zombie sour krauts. I even befriended a colony of green beans, which I never would have believed.

In the end, we coated ourselves in onion juice and slipped undetected into the Baron's impenetrable mashed potato fortress (made from the remains of his enemies) to defeat him and return the garden world to its pastoral, peaceful life.

Some days, I think I still catch a hint of orange to my skin when I glance past a mirror.

I like the potatoes you can buy at carnivals and festivals and fairs. I think they're called potato ribbons? Mmmm!

Glad y'all had a great weekend!

Wow, great subject...just love potatoes anyway you fixum! My favorite potato memory was when our family ate at the Potato Pub near Oxford, England. Our neighbor worked there and she enouraged us to visit. They only served baked potatoes to eat with about 30 toppings/mix-in. It was soooo British. That was fun and delicious.

I guess I will be the first to reveal that I am not a potato lover. A potato liker yes. But no lover.

That said, I do enjoy potatoes in potato-leek soup and in stews.

Moana, I loved that jingle

Mom, I agree with you on the sweet potatoes

TamiJean, through most of the first paragraph I thought this was a true story. Through the second paragraph I thought it was one of your amazing dreams. Once you got to the onion juice, I knew it for a story. What does that say about you? or about me?

Jackie, those ARE great. mmm

2nd Mom, british potatoes? those sound great!

Sabrina, not a potato lover? gasp!!!
