for hair

Dear QotD?ers,

About the only frozen treat I can actually remember getting from an icecream truck is ninja turtle ice cream with bubblegum eyes. radical!

Sometimes I feel very powerful at work. Today, beyond all the frustration, was one of those days. I'm sure tomorrow it will go back to normal. so intense.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
shampoo? conditioner? two-in-one?

Love,
The Asker

Ever since Miss Asker told me about the shampoo bars, that's all I've been using. =]

I would love to find the perfect shampoo for thin, straight, low volume hair. My hair is like cornsilk. I have to use only shampoo, conditioner in the winter to avoid static, and then I have to change the shampoo brand after a few months. I have even added clarifying shampoo occasionally to get any residue off the hair.
I do buy shampoo/conditioner for my guest bathroom upstairs.

Yea for feeling powerful! :)

The combo of shampoo/conditioner sounds so perfect, but alas.........
it is not good for my hair. I need conditoner to be able to
'de tangle' my hair.....especially since it is longer.

So I have a shampoo and a conditioner and I always run out of conditioner first.

Just a shampoo bar. Maybe once a month I'll condition- but I don't think I need to. It's just still in the house, so I figure I got to use it eventually.

My hair always comes out feeling like straw from shampoo+conditioner combination. I have to use both each day.

Wow - lots of shampoo bar users! I'm still a fan.

This weekend I proported my newest theory. (I have many theories and as silly as I may have been in devising them, I have found that many of them seem to not be spurious. I am smart even when I am silly.)

The theory is that women go through an accelerated aging process between the ages of 35 to 45. It is all encompassing, as it effects your physical, mental and emotional being. (I am not sure which of these is the real kicker of that party.) Your skin, your hair, your fat all change. But, as far as my observations indicate, as long as you are healthy, once you hit 45 you rather stabilize in the aging process for the next 20 years. Good news for me!!!

I was met with a fair amount of agreement from all the women who are younger than me, but still in that age range, that they also felt it seemed like they went into warp-speed aging. They are fervently supporting my end clause that there is stabilization.

Can we not speak of all the products now necessary for my hair...or skin?

TamiJean, we pass around alot of ideas and products in this group of ours. I like it!

2nd Mom, that's a challenge!

Mom, I DO like your longer hair.

Skittl, I'm still jealous of all of you that can use the shampoo bars. I need to take mine on my next trip to see if I can get the same results with different water.

Jackie, :D

Anne, that's a considerable theory. and I'll try not to bring up such products for a while.

@Asker

You might also try a different kind of shampoo bar. I have to use the ones for very oily hair and I have to let it dry naturally before I try to comb it.

TamiJean, which bar do you use? I'd be willing to try it. Though letting my hair air dry usually results in a LARGE VOLUME OF HAIR.

I'm still mostly using the prairilandherbs. Found a local seller at the farmer's market and picked up her oily hair bar and I like it so far, but she doesn't have an online shop.

Aloe Fresh
I liked the smell of this, but it left my hair stringy and oily looking (in PATCHES. How is that even possible?)

Chamomile Citrus
One of my favorites.

Ginger Beer and Peppermint Tea Tree
I tried but don't remember either liking or disliking.

Rosemary Nettle
I'm using this one now and it's nice, but Mr. Moore and my mom don't like the smell of it.

Mr. Moore has tried the Sage, Sweetgrass and Cedar, and the Wild Man bars and has loved them both.

TamiJean, I may try the chamomile citrus. Maybe that one will give me some lather

@Asker

I've never had trouble getting lather from any of them. 0.o

Now I'm wondering if it's something to do with your water. Bizarre. I've been able to use the shampoo bars in multiple showers up here, including well water.
