Loves

Dear QotD?ers,
.
It's Friday and I slept in. That's why today's edition is late. I looove sleeping in.
I have some fond and some horrible memories of stop action. Horrible: stop-action Easter special. There was a rabbit with a mechanical tail and everything just creeped me out and made me uncomfortable. I'm not much of a fan for the Christmas holiday specials either. Fond: sesame street stop action, aka, Teeny Little Super Guy.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
What's your most memorable Valentine's?
.
It wasn't quite on Valentine's Day, but I got engaged this one time!
Back in H.S. I was getting notes and presents from a secret admirer... it ended up being my two best friends.
.
Love,
The Asker

My favorite Valentine's was when Jacob was in Ms. Hanna's class. He planned early and wanted to write a poem for everyone in his class. He was deep into the rhyming words phase of childhood. It was extra challenging because he had a girl named Hanna as well as his teacher. Hanna is NOT the easiest word to rhyme if you are choosing to not call someone a banana.

That was fun!

I am not much of a romantic, and Bob's birthday is the 18th. I always invest my time and energy into that over Valentine's Day. I am pretty sure Bob and I have never exchanged gifts, gone out to dinner, or bought flowers for that day.

Jacob passed out his fortune cookies to his lunch buddies today. Ross got a fortune that read "Friday will be full of fun and surprises." This was pretty amazing because Ross's friends have planned a surprise birthday party for him tonight!

Kathleen....I hope you have a great day and an even better weekend!!

:D I cannot believe you mentioned Teeny Little Super Guy, one of my most wonderful Sesame Street memories. Sigh. Whoever knew you could have so much fun with silverware and cups?

As for Valentine's, I always like to devote some time to it, be it a phone call or a nice dinner.

word verif: amica! Italian for friend (female). How appropriate for Valentine's.

Last year was by far the most romantic Valentine's Day I've had.

The only other Valentine's day I really remember being special was my sophomore year of high school. We had an away game and when we were leaving the field it started snowing.

When our kids were still livng at home, I used to love to cook a Valentine's dinner every year. I would decorate the table with a red tablecloth and lace over the top and my mother's china with antique roses on them. I put out past Valentine candy boxes as a centerpiece and sprinkled candy heart all over the tablecloth. I even cut the red bell pepper rings for the top of the salad into heart shapes! I had lots of fun preparing it, probably more fun than the kids did! Agh...
