I've got a golden ticket!

Dear QotD?ers,

I recycle everything that the county recycle center will take. I support a higher thermostat setting, turn off electronics at the surge protector/power strip to keep away the electricity vampires. Almost all of our laundry is down with cold water instaed of hot. carpool. I reuse A LOT of paper at work. the backsides of printouts are great for scrapwork.

This weekend I pulled a lot of weeds in the yard. Sadly, we have some invading grasses that are not so easy to displace.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Have you seen both Willy Wonka movies? Why/Why not? Which do you like best?

Love,
The Asker

I have only seen the original and I like it very much. I have not seen the new one because Johnny Depp creeps me out.

Our family has seen both movies.

I don't know that I like one movie better than the other. They are both great fun.

I've seen both, and I'll admit to being a bigger fan of the first one. The first one felt fun and heartwarming. The second one was more flashy and edgy.

Eek, when we had to watch Willy Wonka in elementary school I never thought it was a treat, always thought it was super creepy. Children were dying!!! In all kinds of weird and horrible ways! At least that was my understanding.

I'm not too interested in seeing the new one.

Yes, I've seen both and prefer the old one. However the scene in the old one where it gets all creepy is SCARY.

The new one, it's alright, and, well, I own it because I think my sister in law apparently thinks I am a HUGE Johnny Depp fan or something. Every few christmases she gives me a gift- and so far all of them have been Johnny Depp movies (also- on sale movies, juding by the titles)- Edward Scisscorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I think one of the Pirates movies... I like him as an actor, but I really don't have some weird obsession.

I prefer the original.

The new one is all about daddy issues and dental hygiene (for a kid movie? really?)

Dear The Asker,
I have seen both and I must admit that even if held at gun point and suspended from a crane on a bridge made entirely out of sheep on the amazon river ride at the zoo in new orleans, which I find out later isn't actually New Orleans but a stage that was set up by the holders of all of shakspear's lost plays who put me in an unbelivably twisted plotline up until that point at which all of this was revealed to me by Johnny Depp in his Willy Wonka outfit, who I find out later wasn't Johnny Depp but the secret leader of the free masons who needed critical information on my movie opinions to save the world from the alien space invaders who in another plot twist were actuallly frog-men from the planet Nerdsquad that wanted to take all the carbon from our bodies to fuel their queen leader, who, as the fates would have it, was superman in a costume, so he could destroy me and my movie critiques that I could not make up my mind. Although, I would like to point out that the new Willy Wonka has fabulous music and my opinions do matter that much.
Sincerly,
Dr. Fandango, holder of the opinions

Angel-A, haha! Does he creep you out always or just in creepy character movies? oh wait, isn't that most of them! ;]

Anne, You are the first I know that has no preference!

TamiJean, yes, I can see that from the snippets i've caught.

Sabrina, you know what? I never thought they died! In my mind, they just went to some recovery room, or the Oompa Loompas made it to the incinerator shoot _just_ in time. Does anyone know if they actually die, according to the book?

Skittl, that's hilarious. I wonder what you said, in passing, one time that caught your sister-in-law's attention. i recieved a Celine Deon CD one year for Christmas out of Nowhere!

Husband, there should be good dental hygene if you are living in a candy factory!

Dr. Fandango, such a long explanation! And while your opinions may not matter, I am curious. not that I will use those opinions against you or antyhing.
