anniversary and earth!

Dear QotD?ers,

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY PARENTS today/yesterday!

Day two of the neti pot was somewhat better. I have created a new slogan: Neti Pot - Drowning You from the Nose Up! I am still not magically better feeling and have a fever tonight. But I also don't get dizzy under mild spinning around.

i like chicken tortilla soup, church picnic fried chicken, WingsN'More chicken tenders, to name a few ways.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
It was also Earth Day, How do you practice planetary conservancy?

love,
The Asker

I breastfeed. It takes energy and materials to make formula cans/their labels, the actual formula, and the bottles/bottle parts. I would have liked to cloth diaper but there were some hurdles that were just too high this time, maybe with the next kid.

And we recycle, it's a requirement in Japan.

· Bought 'Mimzy' (word play on the license plate) for her 31.0+ mpg's
· CFLs at home
· Canvas grocery shopping bags
· Recycle everything we can!

I wish everyone recycled. Then we might not have to drive across town every third weekend to the recycling center...

I live in a small house rather than a large one that I don't yet need. (Yeah, I know an apartment would be better.)

I use no plastic bottles for shower products.

I use reusable bags at the grocery store, and paper instead of plastic when I forget.

I drive a fuel efficient car (up to 44 mpg on highway trips, never below 30 mpg, even in winter conditions city driving).

I use energy efficient light bulbs, and turn off lights when I'm not using them- and unplug appliances (including the microwave, which drives kevin crazy- but who needs a high powered clock?) when not in use.

I use a bucket to catch the shower water when waiting for it to warm up, (and the humidifier water) and when it fills up I use that water to flush the toilet. (We do flush the toilet other times too, but it's usually 3-4 gallons a day that we save.)

Happy Anniversary, Kathleen and Martin!!

I hope you both have taken a long weekend!

I am sick of doing things for the earth! Is the earth thanking me for all my efforts by growing a luscious lawn for me, keeping the unwanted plants from my flower beds and garden and stopping hailstorms from ruining my roof??

I give and I give and I give to the earth, and to no particular avail!

I have never owned a car. (that's a big one, Earth, hope you've enjoyed it)

Small apt.

CFLs.

Natural ventilation and lighting.

Yes, our anniversary was April 22,
2 YEARS after the original Earth Day.
We did go on a 'mini vacation'. It was great!

We do recycle paper, grass clippings/kitchen scraps(with our compost tumbler)try to conserve electricity, etc. I am glad our city recycles.

In case the my last post sounds confusing........

We were married 2 years after the original Earth Day!

I was tired when I typed the last post.
Yup, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! ;)

To Kristen and Justin -- Rosenberg DID have a recycling program when my parents moved there in 1999! It made me happy. Unfortunately it was discontinued a few years later due to lack of participation. LACK OF PARTICIPATION! as if it is so much work to put your recyclables in a bin on the sidewalk.

Angel-A, Any bottles at all? GO JAPAN!

Husband, oh yeah, the shopping bags. i love using those

Skittl, does your husband also use bar shampoo? We need to get a good bucket for our shower catch. that's a good saver.

Sabrina, what is the conservancy mindset in brazil compared to america's?

Mom, the compost tumbler cracks me up every time I think about it.

Sabrina, lack of participation? dumb city.
