we don't

Dear QotD?ers,

I had a great time with my mom. We laughed so hard looking at blueprints. That's how fantastic she is. Fabia and her family came over Saturday night for dinner and games. We played more games with them, including Beatles Rockband! Hooray! It was a really good weekend. I hope you all had great weekends too.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Do you know all of your neighbors?

Love,
The Asker

When we first moved into the neighborhood( 20 something years ago) we did meet most everyone
and we had social functions, etc.
but thru the years people have moved. we have met most of the people now, but all we have is the occasional wave of the hand if someone is out in the yard. We have 1 couple that we are 'friends' with and do stuff with and watch each others homes when we go out of town, and 1 other neighbor that we do also talk with and she borrows the step ladder, etc.
Wow, that was waaay more than you wanted to know, huh?
Times change. I think having school age children is a big factor.....

On another note, it is only supposed to get up to 92 today! Woo hoo!!!! And stay in the low 90's for the rest of the week!!!

Yes, like Kathleen, we all moved into the new neighborhood at the same time some 20 years ago. Very few have sold houses to new families. Thanks to Hurricane Ike several years ago, we all became must closer... BBQs to cook everyones food from freezers, outside in the yards visiting in the evenings. We were 8 days without electricity, so we all made the best of it and just helped each other out! Goes to show us that in sometime the worst of times, good things do happen.

No- I don't know ANY of them, actually. (I know a few of the kids names- and by facial recognition a family that lives down the street and takes ice skating lessons, but I don't know their names.)

Growing up as a kid I'd say we knew 90% of the neighbors and in the 80s even had block parties. Towards the end of high school knew fewer and block parties were gone...

Nope, not at all. I've seen one or two of them, coming off the elevator or in the garage, but that's about it.

Yes, We know all of our neighbors. Some just barely, some better. The kids all have friends in the neighborhood, and with young children, you have to know those families.

On the upshot, we have no Canadian neighbors!!

In Salvador, we knew very few of our neighbors, but we became very good friends with the doormen and building staff. Some of the doormen may even come to our wedding. :)

Mom, Nope, that is exactly the amount I wanted to konw :] I love the details

2nd Mom, Too bad you won't be able to do that at the next hurricane. You'll just have to make friends with all of our neighbors, right? You are still coming to our house, RIGHT?

Skittl, I would love to have block parties in our part of the neighborhood... not just the 'a block party.. for all 200 houses!'

TamiJean, you have an ELEVATOR!?

Anne, lucky

Sabrina, oo, I look forward to meeting them!
