accountability section

Dear QotD?ers,

Friday morning I slept in some, got some audio books a the libary, then drove to College Station to meet Sadie and have lunch with my brother. Then we road-tripped to Midlothian for Mom's retirement party! There was cake, punch, gag gifts and some crying. Those people really like her! and 4 of her former students showed up... and only 3 of them were her children. Afterwards, we fed ravenous fishes, ate fishes ravenously and then Matt, Jackie, Mom and I played Pictionary Man. Saturday I slept in! hooray! Then it was an afternoon with just Mom and me. We had lunch, saw Letters to Juliet, shopped around. Then a relaxed evening at home with Dad. Sunday was church, pancakes, a nap and a drive home, where I got to see Justin again! He cooked some delicious food and we watched a movie. Monday I slept in (again!!) watched TV, watched Slumdog Millionaire. I really love 4-day weekends.

Today's Question of the Day? is

Since it's the middle of the year, it's a good time to reflect. How are you doing on your 2010 goals?

Love,
The Asker

I know I don't post all the time but I do read the questions all the time and to be honest, I forgot all about that post! Checking back I am excited to say I am well on track to accomplishing my goals. So far,

1) I HAVE taken a picture every day.
2) I have lost somewhere between 10-13 pounds. (My official scale broke and I have yet to step on a digital one since then).
3) I will be going out of state in July.
4) Czhilispiel isn't til October but I feel fairly confident that I will beat last year's time.

I am so proud of myself! This might be the first year that I am keeping my New Year's Resolutions! Thanks Kristen for the accountability!

I'm doing decent on my goals, I think. The ones I'm not doing, I've at least made an effort to try and see how I liked them.

I stopped doing the digital art for several reasons, but chief among them is the fact that I just don't have time for it. My regular art can be done during breaks and lunch at work (and sadly, this is when 99% of my art gets done). Digital art requires large blocks of at-home time, which I have dedicated to other goals.

I started and kept a food diary for the first two months, but found that although it did force me to pay more attention before I put something in my mouth, I've been doing the healthy eating thing long enough that the food diary wasn't doing it for me.

I haven't eaten any free "bad" food at work - but I have taken free fruit every time it was offered.

I DID finish Choose Volume 1 and it is up on lulu.com for publishing.

We ARE continuing to do the photo walks, though we're a little behind schedule for the second one.

Blue Moon was discontinued because I wasn't happy with it in a serial format. I want more control over editing than that.

Song of Binding isn't finished, but we've been working hard learning how to properly write/revise a novel. We'll get started on the rewrite next month, I think.

Meditation is turning into yoga + a long final relaxation pose at the end.

iPhone coding... probably isn't going to happen. *laughs* Too many other projects this year. I'm trying to convince Mr. Moore to learn it, so I don't have to. *winks*

Keyboard slowed down, but I want to pick it back up again. It's not going to happen on its own, though. I should dedicate a block of time to it.

Saucy wenches slowed down when my cohost had a baby, but hasn't stopped altogether yet.

Try new food, try new writing, and remembering birthdays are all going very well!

All in all, it looks like I'm doing well on keeping my small goals, decent on my medium goals, and really only a very very small subset of my large goals are happening. That, I think, is to be expected.

I am pleased. =]

(Also, Asker, I laughed SO hard at the ravenous fish word play. <3)

Sadly, not as well as I would have hoped. Of course a few those, like graduating and the trip, are planned, they just haven't happened yet.

We'll see at the end of the year?

Thanks for keeping me accountable, Asker.

I resolved to not wake up at 4 in the morning. Failure.

I resolved to not grow more gray hairs. Failure.

Another disappointing year in my life.

Sigh. I should just go ahead and have another child!

I've read less than 100 pages of my first book in Portuguese for the year. Things have been pretty hectic. I will get them all in, though.

word verif: fumfers. I like it.

Amanda, you should respond all the time. all the cool kids are doing it. And I'm glad to hear of your progress!

TamiJean, you gave yourself some great goals and I've loved seeing the progress on them.

Jackie, one major accomplishment not listed: GETTING ENGAGED! HOORAY!

Anne, I would have thought that first one easy, but you have been given a crazy internal clock. You never fail to entertain us = success!

Sabrina, Hey! you are keeping track of it and have plans to follow through.. also, moving can definately add a crimp to plans.

Mom, retirement. aw. some.
