Happy New Year! 1/9

Dear QotD?ers,

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We made it! 2010 is over and 2011 is ahead of us. QotD? started out the year strong, completely collapsed in the middle of the year from exhaustion and misery, and I'm trying to kick it up here again. Please be patient as the revival continues and know that every response I get makes me happy. :D

Today's Question of the Day? is:
Who did you spend New Year's Eve with and what did you do to celebrate?

Looove,
The Asker

Wow, you did have a busy holiday season, Asker. Hopefully January will be full of rest for you and LBB. Dennis and I spent New Year's Eve alone.
We ate a hamburger at Wendy's on the way to the movies to see "The King's Speech." Yes, I liked it, but then I like almost anything British. We were home by 10pm to avoid all of the crazies on the road. Happy New Year, everyone!
(Still having trouble with the word verification. Is it just me?)

We were in Iowa (!!) meeting Sabrina's family on the Moran side. All the kids were out partying hard, We stayed home and didn't quite make it to midnight, but we outlasted Gradma and Grandpa by about 20 minutes!

I spent New Years Eve with Mr. Moore, and we celebrated by killing internet dragons. :D

Also, not having any word verification issues here.

We went to east Texas to spend New Years with some friends. There was a ton of food and a lot of kids. The kids all took poppers out to celebrate the new year and asked about fireworks, but got a resounding no from all the women. They then went on a secret search for matches or lighters, but the secret search involved asking adults if they had any. This worked when kids asked the dads, but the dads eventually had to ask wives where these things might be located. I was greatly amused by dads and kids trying to find a way around women. I apparently picked up a stomach bug there so that I have been generally queasy for the first few days of 2011. This reminded me why I prefer to stay home and clean for New Years Eve, but my kids had a great time and I am not dying.

2nd Mom, i love British things too.

Daryl, IOWAAAAAA. I keep thinking that's a song from a musical...

Tamijean, what sorts of internet dragons? i want to know

Anne, that cracks me up. Those poor kids didn't have a chance. I'm sorry to hear about the stomach bug.

Mr. Moore and I started playing WoW again, so they weren't dragons so much as random wildlife and evildoers "You no take candle!".

But it was fun, and low key, and very enjoyable. <3

This year Martin and I were invited to a New Year's Eve dance
at the local American Legion Hall in Flatonia. There was family and friends that Martin had not seen in a long time. We ate, danced, and visited. Nothing WILD, but enjoyable. We did have a 'real' band, and not a DJ. Good times!
Yikes, I dont have a visual verification word.......
Okay, now I do!

I spent it with Kevin (husband) in Florida. We spent the day running errands for the cruise (getting wine and soda), then watching the Rocky and Bullwinkle show on DVD. Then we went to Olive Garden with my BIL and SIL, and then back to the hotel. We were in bed asleep by 10:00
