favorites 5/5

Dear QotD?ers,

Friday was my Friday-off. As sometimes happens, I got caught up in the weekend early and didn't get to QotD?. My appologies!

My favortie barnyard animal is a farm cat. I'm just really partial to cats. Also, that's one farm animal that I've had actual experience with up close. They eat scraps and hide in the bushes!

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is your favorite traffic sign?

Love,
The Asker

My favorite traffic sign is one we saw often when we lived in England. Instead of the triangular YIELD sign, it read GIVE WAY....how polite!

I saw some signs once in a neighborhood that on a road that had changing speed limits. (55 on the highway, then down to 25 as it went through the town area, then back up to 55)

A lot of people are in a hurry on roads like that, and few ever slow all the way down to 25.

The sign said "Please Slow Down, We <3 Our Children."

There used to be a sign at the end of the alley to my parents home that said "Slow Children at Play."

My dad always kidded he was that when he was a kid, the sign on his block read "Smart Children at Play."

When I visited England many years ago I laughed out loud when I saw a traffic sign that said "Humped Zebra Crossing." Somewhere I have a photo of me with this sign, imagining a herd of humped zebras crossing the streets of Liverpool...

I really like the old school green street signs. The one with the children running on it just creeps me out. I don't want to caution "border runners" and yet I don't want to hit them either.
