favorites: 3/5

Dear QotD?ers,

Bad news everyone. The plague has broken out in Peru. Don't go there.

I'm going to say cinnamon. It goes well on many desserts, breakfasts, gum and sweet potatoes.

Today's Question of the Day? is:
What is your favorite room of your home?

Love,
The Asker

Daryl asked me this very question on Sunday, and I enthusiastically answered horsehair. But that it actually depends on the surface, sometimes I prefer piaçava. Basically I just don't like plastic and prefer natural fibers.

After a moment of silence I realized that Daryl had not asked me about brooms.

@ GroovySabrina,

That is hilarious! Just so you know, there was a perplexed face thousands of miles away, and even when you qualified your response, I still had a furrowed brow. Who uses a horsehair broom?

My favorite room is the one that is clean. Somedays I have no favorite room in my home.

Well, Anne, what do YOU do with the horsehair once you finish the meat?

but really, they sell horsehair brooms here and my mom has had hers for like 30 years.

No, they don't eat horses in Brazil. But they do eat armadillos.

@ GroovySabrina,

This I will have to look into.

And now I laugh even more. Armadillo hunts. Or aramdillo farms.

I also prefer natural fibers, but straw is good enough for me.

Very entertaining ladies!! Yes, Sabrina you had me a bit confused also!
My favorite room is our upstairs TV room. It had nice colors, a comfy couch and it is where I go early on Saturday mornings to read, read, read. It is also our "date night" place on Friday nights for our dinner-in with a movie.

Ha! Oh Sabrina, that's the hardest I've laughed all day. Thank you.

My bedroom is probably my favorite room now. Now that I'm back home I have my computer and books and bed up here, and, consequently, this is where I spend most of my time.

However, back in college I loved loved loved the living room. That's where the roommate and I ate dinner, watched TV, pretended to study, and bonded. I miss that room.

I'm going to say kitchen.
Lots of good aromas and lots of good memories making meals and people helping with meals.

I try to answer the question before I read any of the responses so as I am not influenced by anyone else's responses and once I answered today and clicked publish, I read Sabrina's response
and thought "Oh no",
I read the question wrong. Ha!

Under my bed!!! I have a bunkbed made out of horse hair without a lower bunk so I put doors on it and made it nice and roomy! It has a built in chair, a desk ,two lights and two shelves. You can play guitar listen ot the radio or just relax.

P.S. The horsehair chair is very soft.

@ GroovySabrina,

As you may well know, Koreans are known for eating dog. One of the many enlightening stories that my dad has shared with my kids is the one where a Korean, at the bottom of the subway stairs, opens his coat and offers my father his pick of puppies to eat.

I guess I did know that there were horsehair brooms. I never have owned one, though. But looking at the pictures on the internet, I bet we had one in Venezuela.

@ Mr. SHSSF,

Relaxing on horsehair! Pffft.

They don't offer armadillos in that manner in Brasil, do they? I still love my vision of an armadillo farmer raises livestock for slaughter.

Dear The Asker,
I once made a horse bear and it was him that did the eating. I really loved that artichoke farm...

Sincerely,

Sabrina, you had me wondering if I asked the question I thought I asked! I'm surprised you have so much passion about brooms. ;]

Anne, excellent answer.

2nd Mom, I love your upstairs room.

Jackie, It's good to have your own space with all your stuff!

Mom and TamiJean, kitchens are fabulous, especially when they produce delightful food!

Mr. SuperHappySunshineSmiles, so cozy!!!

Dr. Fandango, consider me confuzzled.

I don't know of armadillo farms...we will have to ask Daryl about the details since it is his friend who told us about his love for eating armadillos...

I never knew I was so passionate about brooms either. The whole situation was kind of embarrassing...hence the long moment of silence. I do a lot of sweeping here.
