New house: 5/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Today was the 4th and final day of 'wear a skirt to work week.' It was sort of nice being fancy and dressed up. Perhaps I will do it again someday.
.
Tomorrow we'll be doing some cleaning and packing, getting ready for some company who is in for some hard labor. (Mom, I'll send you directions and pictures in the morning.) It's also 3 weeks past the point when we should have taken the recycling to the center. That'll feel good to get rid of.
.
I would like to get those 'Guess What.. We Moved!' postcards and mail them to all my friends. We can get our weekend guests to take a picture this Saturday. (Thanks Mom!)
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
What should Justin and I do, or how should we pose, for this monumental photograph?

New House: 4/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Today I wore a skirt to work for the 3rd day in a row. While there were positive reactions on Tuesday, there were no reactions today. We went to Subway for lunch. We drove to the house after work and I cleaned the bathroom while Justin dusted the fans, vents and blinds
.
The fake lake has no ducks. I think it's all around unbeautiful except for in the evening, when the lights from the basketball court shine upon it. We did catch someone fishing there this afternoon.
.
Also, Justin's second attempt to meet the other neighbors failed. They were in the yard when we arrived, so he introduced himself and me. The man said 'welcome' and went back to whatever yard work he was doing. The woman didn't even look up. We still don't know what their names might be.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
What nickname should we use for our somewhat anti-social neighbors*?
.
Love,
The Asker
.
*Until we find out their real names.

New House: 3/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Today was a busy stressful day of work. So after dinner I had some banana pudding ice cream by Blue Bell. Wow, I really don't have anything else I want to talk about. Except: don't bury me in a gold lined casket, and the moon is funny
.
Not entirely surprising, my idea for a house-warming themed game to play was the exact idea my mom answered. Things like that happen sometime. So when everyone comes for a real visit, we can play Clue based on our houseplan.
.
The neighborhood has a nice community center with a gym and a pool. The neighborhood also has a man-made, shallow, decorative lake with signs saying "No Swimming/ No Fishing/ No Boating"
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Are you at all tempted to go swimming, fishing or boating* in the fake lake? Or shall we just go up and down the streets introducing ourselves to the neighbors in a great big bunch, with muffins**? Or something else?
.

The Asker

New House: 2/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Sometimes, I'll take the outfit I wore to church on Sunday and wear it again to work on Monday (I only wore it for 2 hours, so it's ok). Despite this being unusual attire for me, no one mentioned the skirt. So I'm going to do it again tomorrow, with another skirt, to see if someone mentions it.
.
Also, I was very hungry today. I figured it was from all the hard labor this weekend and all the stress encountered during today's very busy workday.
.
Now that I have all these great gifts (thank you again),
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
What sort of house-warming themed party could we play?
.
I know what I want to play ;D

New House: 1/5

Dear QotD?ers,
.
I prefer regular carpet to burbur. And while hardwood (psuedo or otherwise) and tile floors are wonderful, I still like my bed rooms and living areas to be carpet.
I love carpet tracks. It's lets you know that someone has cared enough to vacuum before the guests arrive. Back when we were looking at houses, and some lady was trying to get us all excited about this one particular house, she was selling the berber carpet on the fact that you never see carpet tracks. The color scramble of fiber used made it look like rice-a-roni. Between those two, where's the incentive to vacuum? or keep it clean? Whatever. We didn't buy that house.
.
So, getting to some new house news, Thursday and Friday nights we spent at the house, sleepin' on the air mattress. Friday we went to all the furnitures on this side of Houston looking for a bedroom set, a dining room set and a matress. Saturday morning I went back out while Justin finished shampooing carpets. I came back for lunch with some good ideas on what I wanted to get. So i took him out one more time to look at my choices. AND WE BOUGHT THEM! Furniture will be delivered later. Saturday evening we went to a BBQ at a work-friend's house and then drove into Rosenberg to see the fireworks. I thought they smelled like hotdogs, and yes, I know how wierd that sounds. Saturday night we spent at the apartment, packing some stuff, doing laundry, going to church, taking a nap. But we came back to the house for the afternoon. Justin got one of these: and I scrubbed the walls with Mr. Clean's Magic Erasure waiting for this to be delivered:
That's a king size. And trust me, I'll probably take more than my half of the bed, now that it is available.
.
If you looked at the title, you may suspect a theme week. If so, your suspicions are correct!
Let's pretend I'm having a QotD? house-warming party and you are all invited.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
What house-warming gift are you bringing?

in the new house again!

Dear QotD?ers,
.
After work today, we had dinner, packed up some stuff, drove by the in-laws to pick up a carpet shampoo-er and came to our home. While Justin cleaned the fridge, I swept all the baseboards and sweepable floors, and vacuumed our bedroom. I cannot express to you how big this house feels. If you've been to our apartment... our new master bedroom is the size of the livingroom and dining room combined.
This is what I looked like yesterday when I was typing up the QotD?

That's the study.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Do you like berber or prefer regular carpet? and Do vacuum tracks bother you?

NEW HOUSE NEW HOUSE NEW HOUSE

Dear QotD?ers,
.
Hello and welcome! I am coming to you live from.... OUR NEW HOUSE. We have a house and we are in it now. Justin is taking a picture, which I'll upload later on this evening. Are you a little surprised? Considering that yesterday's QotD? was filled with uncertainty? We were also a little surprised when we checked our e-mail after lunch to read "Closing is at 3:00pm this afternoon." "Well heck! Let's get out of here!" so we took a half day of vacation. And just to spite us, Pearland had unreasonable traffic problems at 1:45 in the afternoon. Pearland, we are still leaving you, sucker.
.
Because planning for this new house has been akward and disorganized, we haven't yet decided on when we'll move or paint or have our party. You are welcome to offer your services, though, and we'll let you know when we may need them.
.
Today's Question of the Day? is:
.
Would you be interested in having a Question of the Day? guest week, where different QotD?ers would be responsible for the day's post and question?
.
Love,
The Asker
P.S. OMG WE HAVE A HOUSE
