Halloween
Dear QotD?ers,
Hey, have you missed me? I've been busy, and then all last week we were sick. It was sad.
So I'm behind a holiday, but I'm going to ask questions about Halloween.
When our children were younger, we had lots of decorations in the house, on the windows, etc. We dressed up to hand out candy and occassionally we went to a Halloween party........if Halloween fell on a weekend. That's about as much celebration as we did.
Jacob won the costume contest at the Zombie Prom, Nick went to his Fall Concert as Finn, the Human and Jessica was a panther in the school play, Annie from the Magic Tree House series and Marceline, the Vampire Queen. (Finn and Marceline are Adventure Time references.) Also, as if that was not enough activity, Jacob was sick on halloween day and Jessica followed him and got sick later in the week. It was a long, long tiring week.
Here is what I see as the advantage of a sick infant is over a sick 18 year old.
"NURSE!! Is it that diffiuclt to tend to your duties?"
"NURSE!! Just checking the response time."
"NURSE. Hey, do I look sick?"
I had no desire to soothe or comfort my sick one. (Well, I might have been tempted when he asked if I would read him a book.) I would have totally wanted to cuddle and comfort Elizabeth. Awww.
Jessi, counts to me! Tami, how many parties were you invited to? Mom, I loved the decorations Jeannie, bowling on halloween sounds fun! Anne, I would love to see those costume I don't think I'd have any problem ignoring an 18 year old's cries. Daryl, what sort of things do they do in Brazil for halloween?

We give out candy to trick or treaters (only a few came) but I wouldn't exactly call it a celebration.
Hope everyone is feeling well now!
I missed you!
We don't celebrate Halloween. We tried to this year, but all the costume parties got cancelled.

Yes, we usually did something as a family, go bowling, movie at home or out. The kids did dress up for school but we did not hand out candy.

Sabrina's fav. holiday is Halloween! We threw one dress up party in DC, and it was a lot of fun. Sadly, no trick-or-treaters in Brazil.
