i mean, besides eat cereal and watch cartoons

Dear QotD?ers,

This weekend my older brother Mike rode 150 miles in support of multiple sclerosis research. That is impressive and valiant! Good job, my favorite older brother!

In other news, we had an extremely productive weekend. Lots of cleaning, errands, some shopping, new games and a new recipe effort that didn't turn out as neat as we hoped.

Today's Question of the Day? is

What did you do this past Saturday morning?

Love,
The Asker

Slept in until about 8 a.m.
and then later watched/helped Martin's 2 older sisters make kolaches. Learned some 'tricks' about kolache dough.

This weekend was spent at the mercy of my allergies, sadly. Saturday morning was supposed to be "record the next Saucy Wenches podcast" but I took naps instead. We did get grocery shopping done, but no cooking.

Eeegads!

It was a rather wretched weekend. And it started Saturday morning.

Nick greeted me early Saturday saying his throat REALLY hurt. Nick is still on the sofa and incredibly miserable. I knew it was more than sinus drainage when he started running a fever. I was up all Saturday night with him and neither of us got more than a few hours sleep.

Jacob woke up early with a list of to dos before the day was done. He was going to a prom. As it turned out, the prom, hosted be his former school, did not allow him in, as they felt his hair was not acceptable. He had made a great sacrifice in length and style to attend this prom, and I do promise that his hair was presentable. The irony of being denied entry, as he stood there in a suit and tie with a hat in his hands, by a man in a t-shirt, jacket and unmatched pants was not lost on him.

But here is my issue. This prom was held an HOUR AND A HALF away from home!!! And Dr. Hibbert just said, "Leave the premises." He was made to stand outdside in the middle of nowhere. The closet gas station was 15 miles away!! I can abide with the whole "rules are rules,' but that is some pretty inconsiderate treatment.

Jessica slept in on Saturday, but also awake with a reminder that she had a five o'clock birthday party to get to and needed a gift. We got the invitation to the party about 8 o'clock Friday night.

I do not remember Bob from Saturday morning at all. The only time I remember seeing him was when he was mowing the lawn and I informed him that Jake had been denied entry for his hair. He looked angry.

Anne, that is unbelievable!!! I would be so upset - that sounds like something out of the 1950s!!

Saturday morning, hmm, I think I slept the whole morning away. Before I realized it, it was 1:30pm and I was still in my pjs!

I honestly have no recollection of Saturday morning. I think I slept- because I didn't sleep well Friday night.

I know I didn't go ice skating, and i cleaned on Sunday, so that wasn't Saturday...

I have no idea

Went to work. Not exciting at all.

Anne - was this Midlothian?

One time Matthew came to have lunch with me in high school and they would not allow him in the cafeteria because his hair was more than halfway down the center of his ear. (?)

@ Jacklyn,

Yes, it was. I am certain that Matthew, like Jake, was an obvious trouble-maker and instigator.

@ GroovySabrina,

Really, the worst part of the weekend was Nick being sick. The prom issue was annoying and petty. And I am soooo jealous of you being in your pjs until 1:30 in the afternoon!

Mom, Yeah! kolaches!!

TamiJean, Allergies are so dumb. I'm sorry to hear that they took you out.

Anne, oh, poor Nick. I hope he starts to feel better soon. I'm super dissapointed to hear about Jacob and his beautiful floppy hair not beling allowed into prom! Did he have to stand outside the whole prom?

Sabrina, niiiiice

Skittl, at least nothing memorably bad happened!

Jackie, boo work.

It was not his beautiful floppy hair, Asker. He got a suvstantial amount of hair cut off in an attempt to make the authority figures happy. The authority figures were not happy, so he does NOT have the hair he would like AND he did not get into the prom. He thought it was "stupid" for the school to ask him to get all his hait off for one night, so he made a half-hearted attempt. In the war of stupidity, authority always wins.

Nick has strep AND an antibiotic now, so he is much better. He was miserable over the weekend.

Ummm...I am not the person to ask, but they "super-sized" the nanobot so that they could put it in the 3D printer, I think. He is giving his nanobot presentation in front of the school tomorrow and I think that is why it is being printed.

@Anne

Wow! I am sorry to hear about Jacob and his Prom 'attempt'.
That is just not fair.

@Jackie
Wow! I did not know that about Matthew and his hair.

Yeah, boy! That Jacob and Matthew are real 'trouble makers'...........

Anne, oh, I am so so dissapointed to hear that. Nanobots in front of the WHOLE SCHOOL!? that sounds important, yet dangerous!
